Smash Journeyman
Since the reformat of the events system, the venue and time information has been killed, so I'm recreating this thread. Don't shoot me.
We've had a great turnout for our last three tournaments, and we're hoping for another great time at our fourth! If you're into facebook, pay us a visit on our page, and tell your friends.
UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE: Venue and Entry are both $1, so the total you need to bring to this tournament is still only $2, unless you want to buy drinks or snacks, which we serve.
Tournament ruleset:
2 stock, 6 minute timer. Sets are best two out of three. Loser's and Winner's finals are best 3 of 5. Grand finals are best 3 of 5, if the Winner's bracket winner loses the first set, another set of best 3 of 5 is played to determine the overall winner.
Sudden Death is never played - Winner of a timeout with equal stock is the player with lower percent. Tied percentages invoke a 1 stock, 3 minute game, winner of that game is awarded the win.
Self Destruct moves (Ganoncide, Bowsercide, etc) are the game's call on final stocks. If the suicide move actually does take the game to sudden death, however, the initiator of the move wins the game.
All characters legal.
Neutral Stages:
- Final Destination
- Battlefield/Miiverse (Strikes/bans on Battlefield/Miiverse ban the other)
- Smashville
- Town and City
- Lylat Cruise
Counterpick
- Any Omega Stage (bans on FD ban Omega Stages)
- Delfino Plaza
- Halberd
- Castle Siege
- Dream Land 64
- Duck Hunt
- Kongo Jungle 64
Stage Striking will be 1:2:1; higher seed strikes first (seed is randomly generated for now). Winner gets two bans, Loser's counterpick.
Bring your own controller! We cannot guarantee spare controllers to be available.
Please please please if you can, bring a setup. DLC characters/stages aren't too necessary, but we would really appreciate some extra TVs and Wii Us. We're a tiny tournament founded by friends, and while we might not need all the setups people bring, we'd all much rather have too many than not enough.
Please note: Although we do start friendlies at 6 PM , we don't typically start the tournament proper until 6:30-6:40, to allow people time to find our slightly out of the way venue. Please don't let this bother you.
