Hello everyone, New Paltz Smash Club is proud to present another official Smash Bros Tournament Monthly!
We will be hosting Melee doubles and singles and Smash 4 doubles and singles!

Registration for each event will start at 11AM and run up to individual start times:
Smash 4 Doubles: 12:00pm
Melee Doubles: 12:00pm
Smash 4 Singles: 2:00pm
Melee Singles Begins: 2:00pm
--Smash 4 Rules--
Game Settings:
-Stock and time are set to 2 stocks and 6 minutes for Singles.
-Stock and time are set to 3 stocks and 8 minutes for Doubles.
-Items are set to off.
-Team attack set to on
-Pausing: Pausing results in loss of stock for pausing player at opponents discretion
-Custom Fighters & Custom Moves are set to off.
-Amiibos are not allowed.
-Mii Fighters are legal. Each setup will have 1111 Mii Brawlers/Swordsmen/Gunners available for use (Using Default A-F standard size Miis provided on console). No other specials for Mii Fighters will be allowed. Players are not allowed to transfer existing Miis to a setup.
-Team Combination Bans: Sheik and Mr. Game & Watch as a team are banned.
Length:
Each set is best 2/3 games except for Winners Finals, Losers Finals, and Grand Finals which will be 3/5
Striking:
Players/Teams play best of 1 RPS(Rock Paper Scissors). Loser strikes first starter stage, and winner picks stage between remaining two stages. Then both players/teams blind pick their characters. Call for a TO if you'd like an official blind pick mediated by a TO.
Banning/Counterpicking:
The winner of the previous game bans two stages from the full stage list (1 ban in 3/5 set). Then, the loser from the previous game picks the stage for the next game, from the remaining stages. Then the winner of the last game picks their character for the next game. Then the loser picks their character.
Stage Clause: A player/team may not pick any stage they previously won on during the set. (Match 1, 2, 3, etc.)

--Melee Rules--
All rules that apply to singles apply to doubles
Game Settings:
-Stock and time are set to 4 stocks and 8 minutes
-Team attack set to on
- Each set is best 2/3 games except for Winners Finals, Losers Finals, and Grand Finals which will be 3/5
-Timeouts: The winner is determined by remaining stocks, then lowest percentage.
-Pausing: Pausing results in loss of stock for pausing player at opponents discretion
-Stalling: Any game breaking glitches or excessive stalling (luigi ladder, rising pound) will result in a loss of the game
-Wobbling: Ice climbers wobbling technique is legal up to 300% but will be deemed as excessive stalling past 300%
Striking:
Players/Teams play best of one RPS (Rock, Paper, Scissors) winner of RPS is P1. Striking order for starter stages is P1, P2, P2, P1.
Players/teams blind pick characters prior to game 1. Players/teams can call for a TO if they want a mediated blind pick.

General Rules for both Games:
-Gentleman's clause: Any stage can be played on if agreed by both players/teams
-SD Clause: On the onset of a SD KO move initiated, the winner is decided by the results screen. In the case of Sudden Death the winner is the initiator of the SD KO.
-In event of a timeout, the player/team with the most stocks & least percentage wins.
-You may not pick the last stage you won on in the set.
-Note: Please try to bring your own controller
