This SFC is an ARCADIAN STYLE TOURNAMENT. So these top 10 Houston players are banned

These players CAN enter doubles, however they are not allowed to team with each other.

Also quick note: just like the last Arcadian, out of city players are allowed but must message me to confirm they will not be banned from singles. As a rule of thumb, if you are currently top 10 in a major city or have been top 5 recently in that city, you will not be allowed.

But again, message me and I can accurately gauge this. If for example you are #1 in a very small town.

This event will be held at the University of Houston main campus! Here is a detailed map. It is going to be held in the University Classroom and Business building room 104

PLEASE NOTE THE START TIMES!
1:00 p.m. - The Smash United Team begins setting up
1:30 p.m. - Registration begins
2:30 p.m. - Doubles
4:00 p.m. - Arcadian Singles

EVENT FEES:
$5 Venue fee ($3 if you are a UH smash club member)
$5 per person 2v2
$5 1v1

Venue fee is waived for bringing a TV+Wii U+Sm4sh+GC Adapter with everything (except ALL DLC, but DLC preferred) needed unlocked. Wii U MUST be updated to current format.

NO SETUP CAP!
PLEASE BRING SETUPS for the event to run properly and quickly, as well as to snag the venue waive. Laggy monitors sadly, will not get the venue waive. So keep that in mind. (Asus/benq monitors etc are always a safe bet)

RULESET

1v1+2v2

Neutrals:

- BattleField/Miiverse (meaning if you strike one, you strike both)
- Smashville
- Town and City
- Lylat Cruise
- Final Destination

Counterpicks:


- DreamLand 64
- Castle Siege
- Delfino Plaza
- Halberd
- Duck Hunt
- Any Omega (striking this also strikes FD)
- Umbra clocktower
^ we will be experimenting with this stage, it staying for future SFCs is tentative.


Stage Striking Order:
1-2-pick for the first round. (RPS for first ban if need be)
2 bans for the winner of each round

3 stocks
8 minute time limit
Items set to "Off" and "None"
Team attack ON in doubles
Equipment is banned
Custom moves are banned
Pausing results in a stock loss, unless it is for the opposing player's controller malfunction.

Last week we had 37 entrants and on the Smash United challonge you can see the attendance at previous Smash Fight Club events. The last Arcadian (top 10 not allowed in singles) had over 60 entrants... So this one is bound to be big.

Thanks, I hava only gone to tgc 6 and I am still new to the smash scene.

Will you have an entry cap and how much will your fee be waived if you bring a setup?

I really want to go, but I can't, but I can watch it on twitch.
