The hottest, fastest growing tournament series in North Carolina is back for its October installment. Once again, the Meteor staff will be partnering with Mulligan Games & Gaming Emporium for METEOR SMASH MONTHLY!
September's Meteor Smash was a HUGE success; the second largest Smash 4 singles event in NC History (82 entrants), and the LARGEST Smash 4 doubles event in NC History (27 teams). We're looking to keep the ball rolling in October, and hope to reach triple digits. Let's do it, folks!

$7.00 Venue Fee
$5.00 Singles Entry
$10.00 Per Doubles Team ($5.00 Per Person)
* In order to decrease the amount of equipment we ask our competitors to bring, we will be running a $7.00 venue fee for October's Meteor Smash only (providing we hit our target). This money will be used to purchase extension cords, power strips, and other necessary equipment to improve future Meteor Smash events.
PAYOUT:
Payout is scheduled for 60%/30%/10% for first, second, and third places respectively. Payouts are subject to change depending on number of entrants.
$5.00 of the venue fee will be waived if you bring a full set-up. This includes a Wii U with all tournament legal stages/characters unlocked (this includes any relevant DLC), complete with the latest patch (1.1.1; September 30th, 2015), gamecube adapter, and an HDTV / Gaming Monitor.
TENTATIVE SCHEDULE:
Schedule is subject to change depending on the number of entrants, set-ups, etc. Please read the schedule carefully to avoid being left out of bracket, or waiting hours to play if you only wish to enter singles.
12:00 pm: Doors open & Singles/Doubles/Side Event registration begins; Friendlies.
1:15 pm: Doubles registration closes
1:30 pm: Doubles begins
2:30 pm: Singles registrations closes
3:00 pm: Singles begins
* Singles bracket play will begin at 3:00 pm or once doubles bracket gets to Loser's Semi-Finals - whichever is LATEST.
* In the event that the entrant count for singles exceeds 72 players, a pools format feeding into a final 32 (or 16) bracket will be used.

Mii's will be legal for this Meteor Smash, as per the NC PR Panel ruleset, in addition to helping players prep for Tipped Off in November. They must be default size/weight guest miis, with no equipment / outfits / etc. The only applicable loadouts are 1111 / 2222 / 3333. We are updating the google doc ruleset to reflect this change.

PLEASE fill out the registration if (and only if) you are planning on coming. We want the pre-reg form to be as accurate as possible. It helps us TREMENDOUSLY in terms of knowing what equipment to expect, and the number of entrants, which helps us plan and schedule accordingly. Also, if you are bringing a friend or a carload, PLEASE have them pre-register as well!
