Duct Hunt Character Guide

This is a guide of how to use duck hunt effectively. I will cover their moves, strategies, and combos. I don't have many pictures, so please forgive me for a lack of visuals. Disclaimer- I do not regularly go to tournament. This is mostly for for glory.

Overview- Duck Hunt is a troll character. He likes to zone himself out away from the enemy.
Moves-
Jab Combo- This move consists of either a three move combo, or a many hit combo. I find this move to be mostly useless, other than to get your opponent away from you. For that, you have better options.
F Tilt- this move is good for two things, pushing the can(which i will go into further detail later) and getting your opponent away from you. This move can be angled and has a sweet spot.
U Tilt- This move is mostly useful if you want to punish your opponent from coming down. It can be string together, because it does not give to much knock back, until they DI out of it or the percentage gets to high. Has a sweet spot.
D Tilt- use full for spacing and pushing the can. Has a sweet spot.
Dash Attack- Use to punish and complete combos.
U Smash- Kill move.
D Smash- Kill move.
F Smash- Kill move.
N Air- Combo link.
F Air- Combo link. This move has a sweet spot that will kill at higher percents and will do more damage.
B Air- This move is the same as F Air, bit has a stronger sweet spot.
U Air- I love this move. It links combos, spaces, punishes very well, and kills at higher percents.So good.
D Air- This move is an okay spike. it has a sweet spot, like everything else pretty much.
Can- It is what makes duck hunt duck hunt. It is the trolliest move in the game.
Clay pigeon- Also very trolly. it stops approaches and starts combos. has just the right amount of hit stun.
Wild Gunman- This move is surprisingly good. It stops approaches, and blocks many projectiles. It blocks shieks needles, samus's everything, lucarios aura, diddy kongs banana, links everything, pits arrows, marios fire balls, fox and falcos lazers, megamans mega buster and ( i'm not sure of this, correct me if i'm wrong) his crash bomber, and his side smash, ect.
Recovery- It has a good range, but it is slow, slightly difficult to control, and easy to get spike of on it. You cannot attack out of it, which is a shame.
Grab and throws-
Pummel- standard pummel.
U throw- I think this move is useless, but if I'm wrong, tell me.
F throw- good for getting your opponent away from you and throwing into the can.
B throw- same as F throw
D throw- his best throw in my opinion. Combos very well.
Don't use his get up attacks. Ever. Actually, never use get up attacks. very punishable.
Combos-
Duck hunt has a few basic combos.
1. Clay pigeon, grab, D throw, F/U air.
2. Grab, throw ( into), can.
3. Can, U air. ( will not work often only under rare circumstances)
4. Clay pigeon, dash attack

Stratagies- duck hunt is a zoning character. You want to keep your enemy away from you for as long as possible. To keep your enemy at bay, you should constantly be throwing cans and pigeons. To block your enemys approach, throw the pigeon. When up close, try not to throw out to many smash attacks. These moves are very punishable and your opponent will punish them. The can is your best friend. Use it as much as possible. Sometimes, the can will move in an unfavorable direction. To stop this, hit the can with a tilt in the direction you want to keep it moving. With duck hunt, when edge guarding, never go off stage. just throw your can out. A mistake I use to make alot is to throw the can
out of the stage when my opponent has no chance to recover. The can will hit them upwards and help them recover. To kill the enemy, you don't eve have to approach. At high enough percents, the can will kill. Use the gunman to apply pressure and to block projectiles. Use the pigeon to stop your opponents approach.
