The ledge-egg maneuver is a somewhat advanced technique where you drop from the ledge, throw an egg, and re-grab the ledge. This seems easy in concept, but is very difficult in execution.
The first step is to grab the ledge(shocking I know).
Secondly, drop from the ledge and jump.
Finally, once you clear the ledge, use up-b to throw your egg. After you do that you should re-grab the ledge.
This may sound simple, but it is pretty hard to accomplish with all your stocks. For instance, if you throw your egg to early, you won't be able to grab the ledge and you'll fall to your death. If you throw your egg to far above the ledge, you'll lose your super armor and can be gimped easily.
