Introduction to this guide:
Welcome to RPGMakerFan's guide to playing as Kirby. A general description of Kirby's play style is somewhat nimble. However he is light-weight at the same time, making his knock-back from your opponent's attacks have an advantage against you. Though, some of his attacks make up for his feather-weight body. How do you accomplish this? Simple, strategies. Anyways, let's get started!
Kirby's Bio:
"Round little Kirby lives on the peaceful Planet Popstar, in Dream Land. He can inhale things with his big mouth, either copying their abilities or spitting them out again. In Smash Bros., Kirby can inhale opponents and copy their standard specials. He gets launched easily, but recovers well." - Kirby's Trophy description
"Holding the special button and left or right will charge up Kirby's Hammer Flip attack. Charging too long hurts Kirby! The hammer strikes twice in the air, but landing a single blow on the ground is more powerful. Kirby's up special Final Cutter slices up and down firing a shock wave upon landing." -Kirby (Alt.)'s Trophy description
General Strategy:
Finally, I can explain Kirby's moves. Some of his moves are powerful, and the others are a bit weak. The main strategy is to use Kirby's A button attacks more than his B button attacks. Or, simply use his weaker moves to rack up some damage and go in for the kill with his powerful moves.
For example: Tap A twice, then Up+A while on the ground. This is a pretty basic combo for racking up damage.
Or, tap A twice, Up+A, once the opponent lands from falling, Forward+A. I'd recommend doing this combo if your opponent's % is below 27-28%. But, the Forward+A part won't work if your opponent is already at least 27-28% if you already did A twice and Up+A.
Another combo that can rack up some damage is: tap A twice, Down+A (don't tap very fast, or this combo won't work properly), approach them and use Forward+B. Already, this combo can rack up to 30%! Though, there is a chance that Down+A can make your opponent trip, which makes the Forward+B part harder for them to dodge. However, if you don't approach your opponent after Down+A, the combo will only inflict 11%.
These are some of the basic combos to get started with. The next part of this section will explain Kirby's moves.
Kirby's Specials:
: Inhale
"Inhale an opponent. You can then copy one of their abilities or spit them out as a star."
This move doesn't do much, but it will copy your opponent's B attack. To spit them out, press . To copy their ability, press or . Though, if you wait too long to do either spit or copy, your opponent will escape from your mouth, which won't inflict any damage to them. Not only you can do that, you can also move left or right and jump. However, you can only jump once after you have inhaled them.
+: Hammer Flip
"A powerful hammer attack that can launch foes. Dangerous when fully charged."
This move can be paired with some combos. It's also a decent kill move. However, there are some risks behind it! If your opponent has a Counter move, its best not to use it too much on them, or else they might spam their Counter whenever you use Hammer Flip. If charged for too long, Kirby will be gradually damaged by 1% without flinching. To inflict maximum damage without being hurt is when Kirby is about to crouch down, then release + to deal 35% damage.
+:Final Cutter
"Jump high into the air, striking on the way up and down. Creates a shock wave when landing."
This is a good move for recovering. One thing to keep in mind is that this move is quite fast, making it useful to attack your opponent if they are above you. When going down, you can actually spike your opponent downwards if you hit them with the middle of Final Cutter's blade, making it a fatal move against your enemy. Especially if they are trying to recover.
+: Stone
"Turn into a heavy object and plummet. You'll take no damage while transformed."
If you don't feel like fast-falling, use this move as a substitute. Once transformed, you can press to go back into regular form. Though, there is a disadvantage to this move. If you are idle on the ground, your opponent can easily grab you without any effort, so try not to stay too long while transformed.

Kirby's Recovery:
Despite Kirby being very light-weight, his recovery is quite easy to get back into action. Kirby can have up to a total of 5 jumps in a row. The best strategy to use his recover is to DI (Directional Influence) whenever he gets knocked back from your opponent's attack. If you're ever close to a ledge, use + (Final Cutter) to get back up onto the stage. However, if you do it to early, you'll go straight down. Or, simply hold to recover after pressing + while in mid-air. Another tactic is to use the least amount of mid-air jumps when you are recovering onto a ledge, just in case your opponent tries to attack you. If that ever happens, keep trying to recover.
Advanced Strategies/Combos:
Down Air Grab: This combo is simple to do. As soon as you land after your Down Air, grab them. Once you grab your opponent, you can give them a few jabs or/and down throw or up throw.
Back Throw Back Air: This combo is a bit tricky to pull off. However, I'd recommend doing this at a low %.
Down Air Up Smash: This combo can be repeated for awhile. Another way to rack up some damage is tapping A twice after your Down Air.
