This Guide Will go over Olimar tech, Kill options, advanced combos, as well as 50/50s and frame traps. this guide is split up into 4 parts. thanks for reading i hope i could be helpful
Part 1: in this section i will be going over some advanced tech with olimar that is practical and useful in neutral as well as in a tournament setting.
Whistle armor/ Whistle parry: This is a fundemental part of olimar's current metagame. this tech abuses olimar's super armor frames (6-12) to avoid being spiked or to land an optimal punish. whistle armor is nearly impossible to land or reaction when you take into account the average lag of a tournament set up (about 2-3 frames of latency) and the average human visual reaction time (between 15-8 frames). this means that whistle armor must be done on prediction with the exception of things like falcon/warlock punch and bayo smash attacks. this is still very practical because you get a free punish if you land it and he has virtually no lag. whistle armor is very ineffective against multi hit areials or specials like fox drill or DK arial down special.
Arial pikmin pluck: this move is a very effective mix up option and if performed properly can be used as a highly effective landing option. if performed in the right window olimar will start the arial pluck during his jump and move backwards and end with no lag.
Part 2: this part will be going over some lesser used kill options and setups
Down tilt setups: down tilt is a very odd move in olimar's arsenal and arguably one of his best comboing moves as well but i will go over that in section 3.
Dtilt-> up air (roughly 80% on floaty 110-140% middle wight and 120-160% on heavyweights)
this setup is not a true setup but can be a highly effective mixup option that can close out stocks quickly.
Up air setups: up air is a very effective kill move that olimar has access to as well as as an combo tool.
WhiteUair-> PurpleUair (roughly the same percent as the last set up or about 10-20% earlier) this setup is useful except for the fact that white pikmin are highly ineffective at late percent.
raw uair (red/purple) this move is just really good.
Throws: olimar's throws are amazing at comboing and killing.
Blue upthrow is a consistent kill option at 120+% on floaties, 140+% on midwieghts and 170+% on heavyweights.
Olimar also has many 50/50 setups out of throws but i will go over that in part 4.
Part 3: this section will go over Olimar's advanced combos (I will not be going over his bread and butter combo's. i will save that for another guide)
0%- low%
Down tilt combo (long):
vs fastfallers:
Dtilt-> Dtilt-> Dtilt-> Dtilt-> Utilt-> Nair-> Uair-> Uair
this combo is a little tricky to set up at 0% against fastfallers but is very very effective. you need to catch the end of their jump with down tilt to do this at 0%. the begining of the combo is true but towards the end it becomes a mixup. if you raw down tilt without catching the jump the begining is not true and the fastfaller can just hold sheild and be fine. at low percent the combo is true with raw down tilt.
vs midweights/Heavyweights:
Dtilt->Dtilt->Utilt->Nair-> Uair-> Uair
Downtilt combo (short):
All characters:
Dtilt-> Nair-> Nair
Mid%
Down throw combos:
(you can replace the last hit of this combo with almost any arial)
All Characters: Dthrow-> Uair-> Uair
Dtilt:
All Characters: Dtilt-> Utilt
All Characters: Dtilt-> Nair
Fastfallers: Dtilt-> Dtilt -> Utilt-> Nair
Aerials:
All characters: Uair-> Uair

Part 4: this section will go over 50/50s and frame traps.
50/50s:
olimar has few 50/50s but the ones he has are effective and can kill at late percents.
Dthrow-> Uair or Dair depending on air dodge
(you can create 50/50 situations with any throw and most aerials but this one is the most effective)
Dthrow-> Utilt-> if they air dodge wait Utilt again if they dont Uair
Frame traps:
olimar has a few very strong fame traps that are hard you react to and avoid
Vs Fastfallers: Utilt-> Utilt-> Nair
(this combo works on all other characters but is less effective and is based on reads)
