Having the Metroid assist trophy only be killable with ice when only like 2 characters have ice attacks isn't a cute reference, it's bad game design. Not even bad balance or competitive design or something nitty-gritty like most flaws I think exist in Smash, just like, regular ol' nonsensically cryptic gameplay.

I haven't seen the Jellystone Cartoon Network crossover yet, but from what I've seen it really annoys me that all the Hanna-Barbera characters got completely redesigned but the CN characters are just... the characters from the shows.

Went down the "is Rayman a mascot" rabbit hole and found some technically-substantial evidence (specifically WayBack Machine crawls of Ubisoft websites), but that evidence is all localised entirely within a span of 2-to-3 years, and either internet exclusive; representing only Ubisoft's children's game range; or both.

Reading up My Little Pony discourse, and apparently there's kind of an animosity between toy fans and show fans, because the prior doesn't like how all the toys are made show-accurate - instead of uniquely brushable - and overwhelmingly based on the same 8 or so main characters to appeal to show fans instead of fans who want to make up their own personalities and stories.

Fandom is a flat circle.

I feel like I'd be a lot more proactive in criticising AI if the large anti-AI sentiment wasn't so happy with talking in a weird "us vs. them" way. Even when referring to an inanimate object and by all means true, the idea of "we are inately better than them" just freaks me out, especially when I'm part of the "we". You're starting to sound like Ayn Rand, stop doing that.

I think that pretty much every adaptation Warner Bros has put out in the last 10 years or so, with a few exceptions, feels kinda like... for lack of a better term, bargain bin public domain adaptations? Like they want to be seen as willing to let artists take risks with established IP, but there's also some things that can't or must be omitted (particularly aesthetically), and it ends up making a bit of an uncanny valley between a faithful adaptation and something new using the same content.

I like how Pokemon Sun and Moon is basically already a bit of a 2010s time capsule, given most of its villains either redeem or turn out to not be all that bad, and Team Skull are probably modelled after Supreme hype bros. Both of these I think are positive things mind you.

Once a VERY long time ago I was reading IMDB joke lists, and found one called "Striminal Activity", which was a reference to some sort of PSA trying to get millennials to call pirates "striminals" or something and was like saying these are the movies striminals watch, and the first film, and therefore thumbnail, was the SNL Coneheads movie - so everything I see anything related to that movie I don't recognise the film as being called "Coneheads" but rather "Striminal Activity"
