Mario because he's average weight and size. If I want to practice combos I'll go with the smallest character, which I believe is kirby or G&W. If I can learn to combo them consistently larger characters should be cake.

I agree with a lot of what the above poster said. You should definitely play very passively against Dorf, gotta not play aggressive here. Camp him and spam gordos/Ftilt. He's big, the slowest character in the game and can't do anything to DDD at a distance. There's no reason to play aggressively...

I main Dedede. I got into him because the character's playstyle fits me perfectly. I like having a great recovery, zoning ability and lots of power. So much fun to play. I feel so comfortable playing him. Plus I just love the character. Fat, happy penguin.

Just go give it a shot. You'll never know if you're good enough until you try. I think if you're winning most of your matches online you'll be fine. Worst case scenario you meet some new people and have fun playing smash. And I glanced quickly at that page but I believe they play smash 4 as well.

Check the tourney section of these forums. Also try searching google and facebook for smash groups in your area. Last week I played in a tourney that happened to be just a few miles away from where I live. I found it by just searching facebook.
