As of December 31st, 2018. Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker for the Switch has sold 1.05 million units. It’s officially a million seller game. I think this could be the reason why we got DLC for the Switch version.

Sakurai just tweeted that Nintendo has selected all of the DLC fighters for Ultimate instead of Sakurai himself. This honestly might be great news since Nintendo has been pushing Captain Toad a lot throughout the past few years. I’m still not expecting him to make it but this has made me feel...

I can only see a load of third parties being included as DLC unfortunately. But I’m not going to lose hope since a plant in a pot made it as a fighter.

If anything Toadette being in NSMBU Deluxe only strengthens Captain Toad/Toadette’s chances for DLC in my opinion.

I mean... It would be very Sakurai to say that “when Captain Toad isn’t in battle, he can be found looking for treasure in New Donk City!” It would fit his character a lot, but don’t expect it to happen. For a DLC inclusion for Captain Toad, we need to hope that Treasure Tracker for Switch...

It’s actually worse then being an assist trophy. Characters like Shovel Knight, Waluigi and others have bigger roles then Captain Toad. It’s honestly pathetic in my opinion, a background character and probably a trophy to go with it. Such a shame as Captain Toad would bring so much more content...

Yeah, sorry about that. But I didn’t want to get people’s hopes up just for it to come crushing down. Getting it straight to the point just makes it better and less painful for those that desperately wanted Captain Toad in Smash.

Actually Captain Toad has just been deconfirmed. Source Gaming have said that’s he’s in the New Donk City stage. I think this also kills his DLC chances. We suffer yet again.

Just saying, but I could see Captain Toad being announced in this Direct simply because he didn’t even get a mention about his games release in the Smash website and could be saved for tomorrow’s Direct, whereas WarioWare Gold got a update on its release date showcasing a small video of Wario...
