I played all of the Smash games as they came out but only very casually and mostly the single player stuff other than VS Mode with friends/family or CPUs. Never felt any dislike toward any one game in the series, loved them all.
Started getting more competitive once Smash 3DS came out, after a short while, I decided to try competitive Melee in March 2015, which is now my primary game within the series, however, I'll play PM or Sm4sh with other people if they want.
Although I decided to try competitive Smash, it was really more because I just wanted to be better, not because I wanted to compete against people...I am far from a competitive person and I mostly play to have fun or to learn rather than strictly for improvement, competition, or results. That being said, I do actually like playing Doubles, perhaps because I have someone to cooperate with as if I'm fighting for and with them.
