very much not a fan of the art direction warioware has taken ever since gold

really not looking forward to the speculation cycle of the next smash when it comes to social media (not this board though, this is the only place where it's tolerable lol) because people are so toxic when it comes to simply sharing character choices. recently saw a post on twitter mocking tweek's choices for newcomers (dixie kong, paper mario, geno) and everyone is going on about how he should've chosen more 3rd party characters and i'm like

these people are in for one heck of a rude awakening when next game comes and there's going to be cuts

I really wonder if Sakurai is taking a look at all these new (and not-as-new) platform fighters and how they tweak the traditional gameplay of a platform fighter in their own ways (NASB2's slime meter, Rivals 2's ledge/ground/pummel specials, Fraymakers's assist mechanic, Combo Devils's octagonal shield that you have to aim in the direction of incoming attacks, etcetera). There's so much room for Smash to grow as well and I can't help but hope that the team looks at their own series and says something like, "how can we push the gameplay further?" or, "how will we evolve this series?"

So there's no way Nintendo can just.... not notice the current rise in Wario-likes, right? With Pizza Tower being a smash hit and Antonblast on the horizon, you ever wonder if they've noticed that the formula they've used all those years ago might be worth another shot, since it's been proven to still work?

Not saying it'll ever happen, but I think it'd be neat for Smash to reference video games that don't actually exist. I'm going to use Petscop as an example; having a trophy of the Guardian saying that it can appear in battles as an assist trophy, only for it to never actually show up in battle, would be a fun meta-joke.

you ever see a Smash Bros character request and go "pfft, how can THAT character possibly work?" but then you think about it and start to realize they might be onto something

What's a character you've always wanted to play as in Mario Party?

If you had to pick one Robot Master from the Mega Man series to become playable in Smash / any platform fighter, who would you pick and why?

Was bored and made an (updated) ideal roster for if Smash had a reboot where every character (except iconic legacy kits like Falcon and Fox) got an overhauled moveset.

I tried to cram in as many new faces as possible, with the idea that this game will release in this state and receive updated vets as DLC in the future (Meta Knight, Shulk, Diddy & Dixie with the scrapped Brawl tag-team mechanic, etc), as well as other newcomers of course (thinking picks like Skull Kid, Quote, and Heavy). The ratio of newcomers to vets is 15-21, so almost half the cast is fresh faces.

Cuts sting, but at this point there's no avoiding it, so might as well go all-out and refresh everything. No going halfway on this; there's going to be plenty of new and unique newcomers, no matter the cost.

The Rhythm Heaven characters represent a general "Rhythm League" concept that uses many more characters from the series (Karate Joe and Chorus Kids come to mind), and the Tetromino represents a "Tetris" fighter consisting for four cubes that re-arrange themselves into the 7 tetrominoes for attacks, as well as several other mechanics that I'm not going to explain here because that would take forever and that's not the point of this post.
