This is a bad matchup for Olimar. I've learned you have to play smart and bait. Sure Olimar has nice air potential, but Shulk's is even better. Can't beat em in the air? Beat em on the ground. (Also, next time use the Matchup thread!! :] )

Truth is Olimar is definitly higher mid tier. People are instantly turned off because they hear he isn't the powerhouse, grab master anymore. If people learned him i'm sure they'd see how incredibly well he fits into this game's style.

Yeah i changed up my playstyle a bit to less aggression, more bait and it really helps against Shulk.

So i really like Smash 4. Feels different from past games however, does anyone else feel this game has a lack of approaching? I usually find this a problem with Shulk, Ness and Lucario as they have plenty of coverage air wise and ground wise. Plenty of the cast has also lost alot of viability...

I haven't patched yet. Will test and post results when I can.

I have yet to face a Sonic but I'm sure it's naturally a hard match-up from what you listed. Does his spindash cancel out smashes or does he take them to the face?

From my experiences with Sheik, Falcon, Fox and such chars destroy Olimar in the air. Your F-air and B-air are for slower chars so trying them is a much higher risk/ low reward situation when against Sonic. Yes, you want them off the stage, but aim to kill. Its best to rack up % over time a...

However, how does Oli deal with faster characters such as Sheik? Maybe i suck but she seems to run circles around Oli because of his lowered range.
