    Okay, there are legitimate reasons not to want Master Chief in Smash and to think why he won't make it in. But one of the dumbest arguments against him I have heard is that "They don't see how Sakurai can make him work in Smash"

    My response was: "Sakurai literally made a race car driver and a damn plant work in Smash, you're telling me that he can't do the same for a genetically engineered supersoldier?"

    My biggest fear about the shift to Cloud gaming is that it will end up killing off the AAA game as we know it, in favor of live service games

    A bit odd though that we have three characters in Smash, who are from franchises historically linked with PlayStation though,

    I know this is cynical but no company is truly consumer-friendly..

    Microsoft isn't doing Gamepass because they want to provide the consumers with value, no sir.. It's about pushing Azure, their cloud service, so companies can get the 21st century's most valuable resource, data. Convenience and value is just what they use to lure people in

    If the final character is yet ANOTHER Fire Emblem character, I will go berserk..

    All Nintendo cramming the series down our throats will do is make sure I NEVER buy or play a Fire Emblem game..

    I feel like it's pretty safe to say that it won't happen - between Corrin and Byleth, I'd like to think that whoever makes these decisions has learned their lesson, and even if they haven't, there aren't any currently-announced upcoming Fire Emblem games to promote.

    Unless they decide to add a character from Fire Emblem Heroes to celebrate the success of that mobile game, or announce an untitled Fire Emblem game with a stoic blue-haired swordsman as the protagonist, and then reveal fifteen minutes later that he's coming to Smash, I don't think you have anything to worry about

    Why the hell do people keep asking for Goku in Smash? Sakurai has said numerous times ONLY video game characters can be in Smash.. (And no, the "Goku has appeared in video games" loophole doesn't count, as it's characters that are originally FROM video games)
    (At least, Master Chief is eligible as he originated in a video game)..

    If you want Goku in a crossover fighting game, go ask for him in Fortnite or something..

    1. Everyone may not be privy to the rules about character representation.

    2. Everyone may not know that Goku did not originate as a game character.

    3. Sometimes, people express themselves wistfully without expectation of having their wishes granted.

    4. It is not limited to Goku.

    5. It is to be expected. You will always have someone making an invalid request.

    Super Nintendo World feels more like Super Mario World than anything.. I mean sure, Mario IS the most well known property Nintendo has, but no Pokemon or Zelda.. You might as well just call it "Super Mario World" if that's the only property featured

    I doubt it will be another Microsoft character (And no Doomguy doesn't count.. The roster was determined before Microsoft bought Bethesda).. If we get another Microsoft character, it WILL be Master Chief.. The reveal wouldn't make sense now. It would make more sense if Master Chief is coming to Smash to reveal him next year to coincide with Halo Infinite

    Honestly, I'd rather not have Sora if it means Disney characters in Smash.. That's a very slippery slope...

    Next thing you know, you'll see Spongebob, Ronald McDonald, or Kenny Omega in Smash

    Even if Sora's a Disney character, he qualifies as a video game character, so he'll be alright. Although Sora by himself is fine, there's a conflict to be discussed with what content he'd bring because of the significance of the non-gaming properties in Kingdom Hearts. Furthermore, it wouldn't be the first (or even second) time a video game character from a non-gaming company gets a character, as we have Banjo & Kazooie and Steve, both owned by Microsoft (a company known best for computer software).

    Sega owns arcades. Does that make them an arcade company? No, they were founded to be a games company and that's where their focus is. Microsoft was founded for computers and Sony was founded for general electronics company. They have a large presence in the gaming sphere, but you can't chalk them up to "just a videogame company."
    Sora doesn't mean Spongebob, no need to worry. Sakurai made one rule for who gets into Smash and I'll be damned if he doesn't stay true to it.

    Besides, he's not the right character for that if a Halo collection port is announced around the same time anyway. You'd be better off hoping for a first-party Sony character like Sackboy or Kratos in that case.

    Heck, Sakurai himself sees it as a courtesy, so I guess Nintendo appearances, cameos or otherwise, helps negotiations. Besides, Microsoft have been more openly friendly with Nintendo than Sony as of late, and Halo was even gonna get a DS spin-off at some point, so.

    Also, I do believe if we get another Microsoft character in Smash, it will be Master Chief, because of Halo: Infinite.. Microsoft has been promoting the hell out of it

    And also, can people STOP asking for FNAF characters.. I know Sakurai can make anything work, but there is so little moveset potential that I think it just wouldn't work.. FNAF is all jumpscares..

    If we are going to get an indie rep, it should be somebody with ACTUAL moveset potential like Shovel Knight or Shantae
