When I was a kid I wanted my entire wardrobe to be filled with pop culture wear. Nowadays I still think some of that stuff does go hard (green triforce shirt with cargo shorts is a bomb fit despite the memes, and a lot of Venom shirts have really great colors), but a lot of it I couldn't be caught dead wearing. "In-Jokes" being a big one. Like the Star Wars ones that have quotes on them, I hate that stuff. Unless the quote can be fully understood outside of the original context (Such as a Bill and Ted "be excellent to each other" t-shirt) I don't want to plaster it on my chest.
Sonic The Fighters OST is such a weird vibe, cause it sounds great but it also hurts my ears
I don't even like Sonic Advance or the 2D Mario games that much, but their sprites and locations (in 2D Mario's case, it's the All-Stars graphics specifically) are so inseperable from my times as a youngling on Newgrounds that I cannot stop ogling at their graphics.
Sora's next smash bros stage should be called "Foreboding Castle" and it's Eeyore's Castle from Piglet's Big Game. It's the biggest stage in Smash history but there are no hazards or music.
I can't believe the "Scariest things in kids' games" iceberg youtubers somehow managed to dig up Yummer from some random Spongebob flash game, but entirely ignored Piglet's Big Game

I love the fact that there has just been an entire youtube channel dedicated to Piglet's Big Game this whole time. Imagine building your online persona around ****ing Garfield Kart and then Twitter finds out that it has liminal spaces and shares an ambience music track with Amnesia and suddenly your comments are filled with people repeating "this is insane" 100X
the Piglet game's footsteps sound EXACTLY like the skullutas in Ocarina of Time.
I'm tired of pretending I'm wrong - Goku in Smash needs to happen. Preferably in the current decade.
My unlce, who's the reason I got into videogames, has always stated "they should put Goku in Smash", and since then I've just kinda held it as a general belief. Every time I bring him up at a tournament, mostly everybody's on board (the ones who are not are kinda snobby about it, so I don't think we should listen to them as much). Goku has been the face of two equally iconic fighting games, FighterZ and Budokai. He feels made for a platform fighter, he has so much verticality in his fighting style.
For a second - for just one second - take away the belief that Smash needs to be only videogame characters. Take it back to a general focus on the videogame industry. Now you see it. Goku. No-brainer.
I'm convinced that Jill Valentine in MvC2 has the best alts of any fighting game character.

I wouldn't mind it, it adds a nice splash of green and compliments his eyes.
My biggest nitpick about Sonic Mania is that Mighty's stomp isn't as useful for mobility as I wish it was. I feel like it should be able to cancel into a roll in case you want to get top speed off of a half-pipe drop.
Sonic GT, though a 3D momentum game, made it to where you could hold the button to turn it into a stomping, slightly slower version of the drop dash. I think that's a great balance.
Kinda wonder what would happen if we took a randomizer to the entire Smash roster and re-ordered their order of appearance. Like imagine if Corrin was the debut fighter of Smash 64, or if Meta Knight was never in Brawl.
i love Nintendo music, this is awesome! Sure hope I don't have to pay for an online gaming service i'll never use to access the music app!

I'll post a review soon but my overall summary of thoughts is that Sonic X Shadow Generations is the new best Sonic game, because it has a few bonuses and now comes with an equally long and (almost) (barely) just as good secondary campaign.
Mephiles' death feels awesome as a Shadow fan, but heartbreaking as a Mephiles fan.
Like, it is OBJECTIVELY cool that Mephiles is like "you took everything from me" and Shadow is like "I don't even know who you are". And then to mirror Shadow's arc in 06, rather than being concerned about his own future and having to overcome that anxiety, tells Mephiles "you'll never have a future".
But it's the wording of Mephiles' last words (for real this time) that gets me. "I JUST WANT TO EXIST!" Like damn. I know he's evil but that's just sad. He came back for a rematch and wasn't even acknowledged.
In fact, the whole death reminds me of Shadow's confrontation with Infinite. That would be a cool team-up of Shadow rivals who are somehow edgier than he is.
So Gerald Robotnik, in some optional dialogue, gives the classic Doc Brown "don't tell me what happens in the future, it'll ruin the space time continuum" speech, and then Shadow mentions that he "knows a time traveler" and Gerald says "well, i cannot account for his actions."
Oh yeah. It's all coming together. SILVER THE HEDGEHOG SOLO GAME IN MY LIFETIME CAN I GET AN AMEN
Y'all will hate me but after the Siivagunner event I got reccommended a ton of lazy midislaps and they've honestly kinda grown on me. Just got the Sega Genesis version of the full album of the Black Parade on my YouTube and enjoyed it thoroughly.
Am I crazy to think that Dan Fornace has a really dumb reason for not putting Rivals 2 on consoles? He's like "we're waiting until the console version is the definitive edition", but my brother in Christ you are making the game less accessible to Smash players who mostly have a Switch and not a gaming laptop/PC. So you're gonna have less people bringing setups to tournaments, cause they literally can't
So far I'm not super impressed that Rivals 2 requires hardware above a potato laptop. One of the best parts of Rivals of Arther was the accessibility. the fact that anyone could run it on just about anything, and now the game demands a desktop PC or gaming laptop. Overall just very annoying, I know this is technically the same thing as moms complaining that her son needs an expansion pak to play the new zelda, but i'm still very let down that I won't be able to play RoA2 until it comes to Switch.
Had a horrifying string of dreams last night where my most traumatic memories were dubbed in real time by Snapcube
new platfighter mechanic - jump dodge. Basically snap up on the left stick when shielding, instead of a spot dodge you do a short hop with a few frames of invincibility where you hover for a small bit. After the invincibility frames, you can stop hovering just by flicking a direction to air dodge, or by attacking with an aerial - but all landings cause a pretty severe bit of lag, like the airdash attack in Fraymakers - however, you can have less lag on landing by holding nothing and just falling to the ground, though there's usually no reason to do this as jump dodges are to hard punish low-profile strong attacks and to counter grounded approaches.
Balatro doesn't have ANY Siivagunner or Vavr rips yet. That's surprising.
I think it's very funny that the full-length mirror is on my side of the dorm, because whenever my roommate takes fit pics there's a huge framed print of King K Rool behind him

This comes right as Jesus is being baptized by John. This is like, the first thing he's recorded of doing after being born (other than carpentry work which can be presumed).
Thing is, this was way before Jesus died for our sins and rose from the dead. What I'm getting at here is that every single person has an intrinsic value no matter what. Even Jesus' dad was proud of him before he did anything worth a damn. This really resonated with me as I have really been questioning my worth recently in the face of writer's block, academic difficulties, and social anxieties.
I am by no means a Bible nerd but I started at Matthew as recommended to me by the campus ministry leader. I guess there is no way to prove God's existence scientifically but it's kind of crazy how every time I do choose to engage in my faith, it knows exactly what I need at that given time.

I hate SSBU Olimar. Honestly, don't even put him in the next Smash game. I don't think you can make this character work in a competitive setting. You can barely tell what attack he's doing at any given time, and he can get a 64% combo with relatively little risk.
Want a Pikmin rep? Make it one of the bosses and make it an Iron Giant type character. At least that character probably can't combo two up smashes together.
The whole channel was taken down a while ago, but there was a video by Reploid Revo where he talked about Bad Box Art Mega Man in SFxTekken. He brought up the promotional art for Roll, and criticized the game for being gross and sexualizing a character who was 10 in her original canon.
It's just a very weird moment to look back on considering he was found out to have said really weird stuff about Roll and a number of other underage characters.
If I won the lottery I wouldn't tell anyone, but there would be signs.
