Not sure why level 9's are so hard when you're supposed to play Smash like a moron.

Improved AI of CPUs can really narrow down the range of fighters you think you're good with. Back in Brawl, I thought I was good with pretty much everyone. That was clearly not the case.
Fighting Pikachu with Ridley seems like soccer practice for the former. With these imbalances, the fact of Smash being primarily a party game series becomes painfully palpable. It really extinguishes my excitement for Ultimate regarding its competitive prospects.
With Wolf, I have finally found a rushdown fighter that I actually enjoy. Those slash attacks are so fun and cool. And don't even get me started on his side special.
PK Thunder is ridiculous. If I don't air-dodge it hits me. If I air-dodge it just circles back around and hits me anyways.
We have like a bajillion stages now with options to stage morph and remove stage hazards and people at tournies still pick Smashville. Jesus. How are people not sick of that stage by now? I could go ten years without it before I'd feel the slightest urge to revisit it.
I've watched so much Smash Ultimate content and spent so much time thinking about it that I've yet again burned out on Smash. I now could probably wait until next year and buy a used copy. Jesus. All that built-up anticipation for nothing. And only one freeking day away too.

Hot take: The restriction of NES games to the paid online subscription is a temporary ploy to attract people to the service. They will eventually bring back the Virtual Console in about a year or so.

Mandatory paid online subscription AND weekly check-ins just to play NES games on the Switch. Looks like Nintendo's taking the piss again.

Hope just seems like a recipe for disappointment and mental energy wasted in prolonged anticipation. Better to expect the worst and focus on what the game has to offer so far that you happen to like.
Everyone keeps posting Banjo, Isaac, Skull Kid, Bandana Dee, Isabelle, & Geno over and over again as the most likely newcomers but where is the source for this? It seems more like an echo chamber where everyone keeps seeing the same list of characters and takes it as canon and parrots it. Monkey see, monkey do. I've looked at multiple polls and characters like Rex and Pyra, Dixie Kong, Paper Mario seem to do just as well. And how exactly are Banjo's odds THAT good? Being highly demanded doesn't erase the fact that he's owned by frickin' Microsoft.
Don't people who use dark lettering realize that it's hard to read against a black background?
