Happy 25th year anniversary to SpongeBob SquarePants! I was 5 years old when the first episode first aired on television. I remember in elementary school many kids would talk about SpongeBob a lot and reference their favorite episodes. Back then, I knew it would be popular. However, it’s gotten more popular than I could ever imagine.

Turning 30 years old today is bittersweet. But I will always have fun and enjoy life no matter what.

Funny story, the Sega Genesis Model 2 was the first video game console I ever played as a kid. In that regard, Sega should be my favorite video game publisher, right? It was actually Nintendo that later on ended up being my most favorite video game publisher growing up, with Sega as a close second. Much of my gaming life has basically been playing Nintendo games. I do revisit Sega games and Sony games on occasions though. I played the Nintendo 64 and Super Nintendo several years after playing the Sega Genesis for the first time.

I love both the Super Mario and Sonic franchises, but if I had to pick one I love more out of those two, it would be Super Mario. Also, there’s not a lot of Sega IP’s that stuck out to me outside of Sonic. With Nintendo though, many of its creative IP’s interested me in immersing myself into their fun and imaginative worlds. Especially a series like Donkey Kong Country and its atmospheric soundtrack. This might sound weird, but I got into existentialism thanks to Donkey Kong Country.

Been busy working during the holidays, but I want to say Merry Christmas!

Even though it took years for it to finally happen, I’m happy to see Diddy Kong and Funky Kong in Mario Kart 8 where they belong.

Super Smash Bros. - How it all started.

Me at 8 years old: “Squidward is a jerk and is mean to everyone.”

Me at 29 years old: “I’m Squidward.”

When I was a naive little kid I related to SpongeBob the most. When I was acting silly in middle school like sneaking in snacks into class, I related to Patrick the most. Now, I relate to Squidward the most because of the dark side of society as well as the whole “doomer” mentality thing, those things sometimes makes me feel negative now. I also relate to Squidward a lot now because of my love for art and music.

It’s amazing SpongeBob SquarePants has been on the air for over 20 years!

I’ve had a tough time balancing my work hours and my hours where I want to have fun several years ago. I felt like I was multitasking at times. But once I got an agenda book and stayed organized, things got smoother from there.

I’ve been playing the Nintendo Switch for years now and enjoyed it. I bought a PlayStation 5 today. Man it’s huge, I saw the size comparison between the Switch and PS5 and saw how much bigger the PS5 is! I hadn’t played a PS5 until today because I had to save a lot money to get it because of how expensive it is. I have been playing mainly Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 recently before getting one. The PlayStation 5 is a powerful performing console with a strange design, it looks like an inverted ice cream sandwich. It’s got a nice online system though. Even though I will always prefer Nintendo’s IP’s more, the PlayStation 5 is a great system with cool controllers.

Some of my favorite cartoons growing up were SpongeBob SquarePants, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Garfield. What do those franchises have in common nowadays? They’re all owned by Nickelodeon now. Weird.

I just thought of this the other day. If a Nintendo Switch 2 were to be announced, then a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Deluxe or something like that might be a possibility.

Hey everyone. It's been a while but I miss coming here. What did I miss? What do you think of the recent things Nintendo's been doing. It's interesting to see them more involved with the movie industry. Also, I heard rumors as it pertains to their next console; it may be revealed soon one day.

The Star Fox 64 menu music is one of my favorites. It's soothing, relaxing, and brings back lots of fond memories.

Time is going by fast.

The NES, Game Boy, and SNES were a little before my time when they launched. Thankfully, I was able to buy the NES Classic Edition and SNES Classic Edition and experience the classic games on those systems. I remember like it was yesterday getting the Nintendo 64, Game Boy Color, GBA, GameCube, GBA SP, DS, DS Lite, Wii, and 3DS when they all first launched. I also got the Switch as well a few years ago. I played the Wii U before, but never got around to actually owning one.

Many people from Generation X were young adults while I was a little kid when I got the Nintendo 64, my first Nintendo console. Now my generation, Generation Y, many of us are young adults when I got the Switch a few years ago while many people from Generation Z were little kids.

Yeah, the feeling is sinking in and it’s like a continuous cycle.

I have seen this a lot on the internet. There are the older generation of gamers who will say that the newer generation of gamers tend to have recency bias and the newer generation of gamers will say that the older generation of gamers tend have nostalgia bias. I think it’s important to objectively look at different sides of the equation and see which games are truly better than what they are given credit for.

There were some interesting announcements from the recent Nintendo direct, but nothing huge as it pertains to certain series that fans have been waiting for an announcement quite a while for. I am confident we will get a few more directs further down the line months from now, perhaps there will be huge announcements then. I feel we will definitely get a Pokemon direct soon and possibly an update on the new Pokemon Snap game.

Excited for the next direct happening soon. Show me what you got Nintendo!

My favorite video game genres are platforming and action adventure. I also enjoy RPG and space games. Sometimes I try other genres like sports and racing when I am in the mood.

My favorite Nintendo 64 games are Super Mario 64, Star Fox 64, Ocarina of Time, and the original Super Smash Bros.

Today is my birthday. I am now 27 years old. One day I will be 64 years old. When that day comes, I want a Nintendo 64 themed birthday cake.

To this day I find playing video games to be the most effective way of having fun.

I still can’t believe there’s a new Pokemon Snap game coming for the Switch. To me, Pokemon Snap for the Nintendo 64 was one of the best Pokemon spin off games and one of my favorites. I am excited!

I know this website hasn’t been that busy lately, but something like a new E3 announcement ought to refuel things.

One of the worst websites I ever visited was 4chan. I checked it out before but only to see what was being said about the Smash leaks and certain games I like. It depends on the user, but there’s a bunch of crazy people posting in certain sections, some are probably extremists too (the kind that associate themselves with swastika symbols). I highly recommend avoiding certain websites like this one.

I know the pandemic has been making us all go crazy, but there’s that ol’ saying about light being at the end of the tunnel. Let’s hope for the best. I firmly believe it will be over one day soon.

I will be watching Olive the Other Reindeer again this Christmas. Can’t believe it’s been out for 20 years.
