Tldr, I have been playing smash since I was 12, and the smash series of games is to me, hands down, the best videogame series ever. I love these games (except Brawl).
Non tldr, I started playing smash when it came out for the N64, and absolutely liked the game and played it non stop.
Afterwards, Melee was released and I thought it was the best game ever, played Melee all the way through high school and college. Pizza, beer and videogames, from 8PM until 4 in the morning.
Brawl came out, and despite all the expectation, I did not really like it. Too slow for my taste after Melee.
Around that time, I also started working and a serious relationship with my now wife, and time for videogames became more scarce everyday. No time to look for the smash underground scene to play project M.
Last year (2014) I knew Sm4sh was coming out, and was excited about it. However, I had not forgotten about the Brawl fiasco, so I remained skeptical. And I had become a dad just a year before, so there was not much time left for videogames.
As soon as it came out and I read all the positive reviews I bought a WiiU and have been playing when I have some time to spare, usually very late at night or when my son is watching cartoons. Pocoyo is awesome, and all the hate directed towards the Dora character is well deserved. Sm4sh is truly awesome and feels like what Brawl should have been.
I now realize I may have taken the "About you" section a bit too literal. Hope you had fun reading this. Add me so we can spar sometime. NNID is manolonoe.
