I want a game that uses Metaphor: ReFantazio's same insanely well-crafted narrative system and wonderful writing...
...but it's about a young witch trying to solve the disappearance of her neighbor's cat in a small village in the Alps.
Do you ever see someone saying that a piece of media is too unsubtle at conveying its themes and halfway through their explanation realize that they somehow missed the most obvious metaphor possible in the story?
Just saw the latest Street Fighter VI DLC character. I can't believe Sakurai forced Capcom to add Terry to their game. First Smash and now this. When the madman will stop?
"MOM! Phineas and Ferb are awakening the Great Dreamer slumbering in the sunken city of R'lyeh!"
"Can you pet the dog?" style of gimmick account but with killable gods in video games.
I love how every single DLC era Ultimate "leak" was
- Fan favorite pick that shows they finally listened to the fans
- Out-of-the-wall pick that's "such a Sakurai thing to add"
- Character from a Switch game (there is a dirty shill pick so you know this leak is real)
- The guy everyone was talking about two weeks ago
- Most wanted character of the user who made the post
One of my biggest pet peeves is when people accuse a character of being an expy of a more famous character when actually they're both references to the same guy.
The way Xenoblade 2 handled it doesn't quite work but I actually like the idea of having a gatcha-style system in a regular console game only without microtransactions.
Unlocking a large cast designed by various artists is a fun concept in theory and satisfies the toy-collector side of my brain. Just make it so that I can unlock everyone by naturally playing the game.
I love it when people make fanart of unused concept art for games.
If I see another person using Oldsona and Newsona to talk about Persona, I'm punting them to the sun.

Stylized art directions are good but I wish people weren't so insecure about liking them.

Persona 5: The Tacticening
When you think about it, there are only seven types of basic plots:
- Plumber fights a giant ape to save the girl
- Kid collects every wildlife
- Furries enter a dogfight with a flying face
- Woman deals with every problem using a laser cannon
- Cute eldrich monster eats less cute eldrich monsters
- Dinosaur raises kids
- Twink fights a giant pig to save the girl
No more edgy Alice in Wonderland adaptations, I want a dark and gritty live-action The Hunting of the Snark adaptation that takes itself super seriously and has a bad CGI Beaver.
Uta from One Piece Film Red is so funny to me because I don't think she doesn't fit into the series or anything but if you describe me her character arc without telling me where she's from, I'd believe that she's an Arknights character or something.
Life hack: You don't actually need to critically interact with media to form your own opinion about it, just watch a monetized Youtube video made by a guy who hates everything made after he turned 16, that will give you an unbiased and holistic view about it.

It's interesting how teaching the player works in visual novels.
While in traditional games, players are usually expected to develop their strategic thinking or hand-eye coordination skills to surpass higher difficulty challenges.
In the visual novels, however, the difficulty (if there is any) comes from being expected to read the text carefully and critically. Some of my favorite examples are the ones where you need to take character development into account and are lead to a bad end if you deviate from the context of the decision scene.
I feel like a lot of the "translation vs localization" discourse you see online would vanish if more people at least had the basics of a second language and realized that they might as well be arguing "apples vs apples".
This part of the The Cyberiad feels more relevant than ever with all the talk about AI-generated "art":

There are quite a few Smashboards Creates threads that focus on Shonen Jump Magazine but I wonder if there'd be an interest in a forum game that focuses on Jump+/Manga Plus.
It's my primary way to read manga these days and I feel like there are a lot of interesting manga in there that don't get a chance to be featured in fan concepts, which is a shame given big names like Spy x Family and Kaiju No. 8 originated from there.
Last night, we found a magpie chick that fell from its nest. We couldn't get it back to its nest and the vet told us that it is old enough to be cared after at home so... I guess I have a bird now.
As cool as Persona 3 remake is, I think Persona 5 Tactica might grab my attention more depending on how they handle it. P3 remains my favorite numbered title but I've wanted a Persona SRPG for ages.
