One final note, even if you still hold that sheik is male in oot, in smash she is quite clearly female, so in the context of smash the correct way to refer to her is as female

The promo art if taken literally shows many things that don't lineup with the game, seeing as the game itself shows exactly what happens, and the game shows and explains that Zelda used the DISGUISE of sheik to hide from Ganon and Zelda fully considers herself a woman, it is clear sheik is female as zelda=sheik

I'd also like to point out that you can argue against the promo art, you CAN NOT argue against what is portrayed quite clearly in the game itself.

I'd just like to point out, the game itself reveals that shiek is Zelda near the end of the game zelda=sheik and Zelda obviously is a woman on top of her telling you point blank that she DISGUISED herself as shiek to avoid being found by Ganon in other words, sheik is not real, and just a DISGUISE.
