This was a very good read. The only question I have is in regards to applying this to tournament situations. Is it more effective to consciously think of our playstyle while we're in a match, or is it better to run on "autopilot"? I'm definitely going to pay attention to how I play in practice...

Brawl is more of a complex game of chess rather than a fast-paced, combo-packed fighting game. I've found that most of the situations are one-move encounters, and it's slow enough that I find myself thinking beyond the current move like in chess. Melee was more of a reliance on your muscle...
