Well that is quite true but constantly pumping out the same old **** is what causes the industry to go stagnant and die. The Japanese vg industry is starting to suffer because of how doggedly obsessed the Japanese are with tradition and their refusal to accept change in their gaming. A lot of devs are suffering because of it.
Also it's true about the Ocarina thing which is possibly one of the saddest things about Zelda. TP was basically a perfect clone and it is actually one of the least celebrated of all Zelda games. Let's face it, from ALttP up to SS, every single home console Zelda has been considered an absolute masterpiece and classic except for TP which was just called amazing (kinda funny how amazing for a Zelda game makes it eh).
But yeah honestly fans are their own worst enemy, and the worst thing is I don't think most people who even buy games now are even old enough to remember OoT properly, so it's kinda rich of them to expect a game whose impact they never felt the full magnitude of.
Personally Majora's Mask is my favourite game of all time, that's all games not just Zelda. It was better than Ocarina in every way that mattered, but ah well sadly it's probably the one type of game we'll probably never see a repeat of. MM is the real example they should follow imo.
