The Rivals of Aether development team announced the Rivals of Aether EVO 2018 side event on June 29th during their developer podcast. The Rivals team will provide a $1,000 pot bonus for the event.

2GG announced on Twitter that their upcoming Hyrule Saga tournament will officially be partnered with Nintendo of America. The tournament will take place on June 23rd and 24th, featuring Super Smash Bros. Wii U Singles and Doubles brackets.

The Smash Box, Hit Box’s alternative GameCube controller, is now available for pre-order. Hit Box advertises increased control of Smash Bros. characters through the controller’s entirely button-based inputs, as well as decreased wrist tension during play.

The fifth in a series of premier grassroots Super Smash Bros. tournaments, Genesis 5 will take place this year in Oakland, CA, from Friday, January 19th to Sunday, January 21st. Genesis 5 will not only host Super Smash Bros., Super Smash Bros. Melee, and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, but will also host a variety of other games including Rivals of Aether, Street Fighter V, Splatoon 2, and Dance Dance Revolution Extreme.

Twitch’s Holiday Bash Smash Invitational marked the final Super Smash Bros. Melee major tournament of 2017. 14 of the world’s best Melee players were invited to this highly competitive invitational, and spectators were treated to plenty of exciting and explosive matches from Friday to Sunday night.

Everyone’s been there - watching their projectiles vanish as they attack Rosalina from afar, afraid of getting closer and being attacked by Luma. Rosalina & Luma are a formidable duo in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS and combined combined are among the strongest characters in the game, and definitely one of the most frustrating to face.
