While I can see some points, I still think on all counts of what you said, if not, most of them, you are thinking too heavily on this, especially on what you think of that "ulterior motive" of his fans when it is not like that at all, and even if it was a factor, it was far from the only one.

Plus, K. Rool was not in the previous Donkey Kong Country games for the Wii and Wii U. They had to get Nintendo's attention that he was well liked somehow, and no better way with a game series like Smash Bros. Otherwise, not only would King K. Rool not only not get into Smash Bros. but I think Nintendo would not really use him for a long while.

Plus, there is nothing wrong with "old characters", as Sakurai himself called King K. Rool once, entering Smash Bros. as a playable character. In fact, it was said King K. Rool was going to be in the Switch version of Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, but Sakurai called dibs on bringing back the character.

I never said anything about old characters? What do you mean? Also, why did you try and say "There are no ulterior motives" and then listed those said ulterior motives I was criticising as a reason for his inclusion?
