Would be a good idea to start on specific problems with the ballot's execution (dishonesty about Ultimate's existence and the lack of input for non-character content for instance) and then escelate into the logistical flaws of fan demand, before finally getting into the heavier/moral issues.

For one thing you’re going to have to learn to not say things like dishonesty and moral issues

Or you could put Opinion Piece in the title and be as bias as you want

The more I look into the Smash Ballot, the more... mad I get. Both at the ballot itself, and at teenage me for falling for it.

God, there is more to unpack here than I anticipated... I was thinking this article would be focused on the nuances of fan demand as a whole, and if I do write it that will remain the emphasis, but the sheer dishonesty and ambiguity of the ballot... Jesus. Bayonetta being pre-planned and bizarrely explained around, the complete lack of as much as implication as to whether it's a suggestion box or poll, the 500 character limit for explanations, the fact that the ballot would be used in later games being outright hidden from certain territories (is that LEGAL???), the reason for the votes being hidden being because they anticipated that harassment would occur over the ballot, but still did it anyway... all of this is stuff I knew already, but even with hating the ballot so much I never truly realised just how icky they are until seeing them on a SmashWiki article in combination. Yeah, I'm holding this one off if I do get into writing. I'd want my big debut to be something more positive, like the funny orange bad game cat.

OH ****. Didn't even really mean anything in the long run under even a charitable pro-fan demand estimation, huh.

Yeah, I ain't doin' this article, at least not so soon. The circumstances are just too negative. This ****, like most Smash curtain-pulling I've partaken in, is outright draining.
