The movie explicitly shows that the upbeat and commercialized version of the song is the one by the bad guy, and is shown to be a complete bastardization of the original, so using it in a positive context is against the story. But IRL because the original lullaby version is an easy way to make most people cry on command, everyone kind of always uses the upbeat one or a different commercialized one so they don't have to deal with that.
if you really need to use an upbeat song from Coco, Un Poco Loco is right there, that one is underrated, so is La Llorona
