I love Tatanga, he's a silly little guy, but King Totomesu really deserved to have just as much a legacy as Daisy and Wario.

In the UK SML is one of the most popular Mario games due to the Game Boy being significantly more successful than the NES (and to a lesser extent SNES), so there are probably quite a few older people out there who think of Mario first as fighting sphinxes in Egypt before Bowser, or at least before they think of Bowser Jr. or the Koopalings

According to the lore™️, most of the enemies in Land 1 were brainwashed by Tatanga. So I've always liked the idea of Totomesu being characterized as like an anti-bowser or something. A kind and noble king with no interest in conquering or kidnapping.

Have him be Daisy's tennis partner.

While Googling Totomesu, I found some Daisy X Totomesu ship art, where Totomesu was drawn as quadrupedal, and it was actually quite cute.
