Here's how I view the culture change throughout the decades: 5 to 5 instead of 0 to 0. The early 80s was more like the late 70s, the early 90s was more like the late 80s, and the early 2000s was more like the late 90s. To me, the decade doesn't really change until the half way point so really the 70s didn't start until 75, the 80s didn't start until 85, and the 90s didn't start until 95 ect.
