Funny you'd mention that, it's actually the reverse order. The first episodes of Caillou featured Caillou wearing a grey shirt, and when GoAnimate users found this out they decided to make him a separate character. These grounded videos have some surprising deep cuts to the Caillou lore.
If you don't know what GoAnimate or grounded videos are, that's a very, very deep rabbit hole but the basic jist is - children, given internet access, use drag and drop animation tools to make Caillou and other "baby show" characters (like Dora the Explorer; Arthur Reed; or Little Bill) misbehave and get grounded for it for absurd lengths of time, all the while speaking with robotic voices.
