I like the hall of fame idea, any idea on how it will work? will we vote?

I was assuming soon people will nominate videos they think are good for the hall of fame, and then we will have voting on it. The hall of fame will occasionally be updated too to incorporate new great videos.

Another idea is categorize the hall of fame by Squirtle, Ivysaur, Charizard, and overall (all three). That way new people browsing and looking to improve say, their Ivysaur, can check the Ivysaur section of the hall of fame for some great motivation/ help.

I will PM Retro and we'll get something started soon =).

 

[Retro Gaming]

No need for PM really, I can merge all of these discussion posts into someones actual video post and delete all the "extra" stuff.

I think there should just be one Hall of Fame, but you have maybe a brief description below the video hyperlink that describes exactly why the video was nominated. If we get really creative we can make little images and award "badges," which represent good play of a specific Pokémon, intelligent switching, etc.

That's just my idea.

I think an index made in the way it is lends to the idea that critiquing is perfectly welcome.

I started falling into some really bad habits with Ivysaur, it seems. Where did my F-Tilt/D-Tilt go? I'll be sure to fix myself in the future.

Now I'm not sure if it was you I saw doing this but I think it was. Anywho.. It was Razor leaf -> f-tilt -> Bullet Seed, and it was AWESOME!

Quick update; a couple videos of friendlies at my house. After a trip to Lawrenceville yesterday, a friend left his camera with me, so after playing for a while, we decided to record matches.

I'm not sure how long we'll have the camera, but we could have a lot of matches up in the near future.

My older brother is ridiculous defensive; lives in his shield. Good on him, though; he plays Dedede. :/

Also, we play each other so often that most of my tricks don't work well on him. A SHAME

ALSO, I was quite tired from the trip the day before, so don't mind some of the stupid stuff I say, XD. I'm usually not vulgar or repetitive in my conversation, although it tends to be funny to hear/watch me.

These are a few new videos I took on February 23, 2009 playing some friendlies with a couple people. I got Rock Band 2 about two weeks before this and that's pretty much what I've been occupying myself with since then. So when you cringe as you see me dash attack with Charizard, its really because I'm terrible at this game.

Hey Retro - you wanted feedback on your videos. I don't have much time because I am at school right now, but I will give you a bit of my opinion on your singles videos. I think starting with/using Squirtle more during the IC's matchup would help you out.
There is a pretty good IC's main that comes to my Brawl club here weekly, so I play him a lot and I found that I can generally avoid being chaingrabbed by staying in the air and hitting him in ways that he can't grab me back. Also, Squirtle works really well to separate the two IC's. Once I get them apart I severely beat up on the PC and can often kill her pretty fast if he doesn't get to me fast enough. And even if he does get to me fast enough I mess up what he was trying to do because he has to go and make sure she recovers.

Also, be careful about using too many throws against them =P You can't grab both at the same time and I noticed it gets you a few times. I love your Ivysaur btw, try to vary the ways you get back on the stage though.

Retro, I have a budy who plays a lot of Ice Climbers...doest a lot of chain grabs and stuff but what you should really do when they are using their ice blocks in the beginning use razor leaf cause it goes through all of them and when your charizard use flamethrower a lot more to keep them at bay..

Reflex, I think if it was tournament legal to use the squirtle-only hack then you would've won most of your big matches at tally. I think you should push for that hack to be legal

Quite possibly...but right now, I'm more concerned with working with what I've got.

I want to hack my Wii for single Pokemon play...so I can practice my Ivysaur and Charizard individually.

Also, I now have a few videos up from a tournament a couple months ago. Lots more Ivysaur/Charizard showing than usual in the Singles stuff, however mediocre it may be. D:

i highly recommend it! it's pretty nifty.

plus you can take your wii to tourneys and challenge people to squirtle only MMs. i want to start doing that sometime. it's like free money!!
