I use him for some counter picks sometimes, GW has a big problem with marth though. How do you get around the fair/fsmash spam?

I bacon, then as the bacon stund him, I throw down, up tilt, uair, and nair. I do that to my friend alot, but he's not the greatest at DIing... If he was good at combo breaking, then I'd just use my Judgement.


G&W is one of my mains, I wrote a guide on him too.
I don't care about tournament standings (AKA tier lists) and anyhow, G&W has to be the coolest character in the game. Who else can spike with a frying pan, smash people with turtles, and summon two friends with trampolines to launch him into the air? It's more generally mind-blowing to pwn with a G&W than to pwn with a Shiek.

I enjoy playing Mr. Game and Watch a lot. He doesn't get the credit he deserves. He's got such a unique and innovative moveset (though **** his non-L-cancellable moves). I'm waiting until I get better with him to play in tournaments with him, but he can dish out the pain if used correctly.

Also, as for Marth. Just use a different character if you are trying to win, honestly. It's just too horrible of a match up.

Usually vs marth I just pick my own marth. Is there anything though that can out range fair or fwd smash? I'm gonna try out just spam turtle dance, keys work decently sometimes too. Any tips though besides pick a different character?

Not really. Keys, running like a girl, and turtle is what's going to do it against Marth. Once you have him on the run (as in, he's in the air, not actually running because he'll probably just dash cancel forward smash you) then keep him that way until you can kill with a parachute or something.
