Hey all, somewhat new DK player here.

The reason I want to play DK is because I saw Will playing against a REALLY good Diddy at a
one of Wes' Gauntlets...while that alone was inspiring, I have only recently realized that playing DK makes me feel awesome.

So, there's still a lot I have to learn, but I know you guys can help;
I don't suppose any of you can critique my wannabe-Kauliflower Kong
later today, when I'm not between classes?

Hey dude, if you could get some videos of you playing DK up then it'd be way easier to critique you.

IDK if that's an option... Otherwise if you got any specific questions then it'd be alot easier.

Ha. I wish I could get videos of my DK up... I haven't been to a tourney in a while,
so any truly serious matches with my DK are rare.

I guess I'll just have to play someone from here later.

Aside from that, one thing I want to learn to do is something Will
does on Battlefield, let me describe it.

Basically, hes on one of the first two platforms, then he drops thru it,
then he quickly Up-Bs, however, instead of going up like a normal Up-B,
he goes downward, and does a non-laggy landing, which I found to look quite
useful.

They way he does that is because when he starts the up B he is on the ground and he uses his momentum to carry him forward off the platform. Once off the platform you can fall quickly.

It's really useful especially if you leave the platform between frames 10-16 from when you initiate the attack because those are the super armor frames. If you leave the platform on those frames then a glitch happens and you get super armor throughout the entire attack.

See, I knew it. That's the type of thing I need to learn as DK. I need training for him.

Other than that, I'm fairly comfortably playing monkeymonkeymonkey, its just that I need
to learn to use his ATs like Will does; the way Will plays is INSPIRING.

Will is an amazing player. He is so good at reading his opponents and if your playing DK it's really easy to punish mistakes.

But you should learn all the ATs first so you can get movement down.

Check out the Metagame thread it has all the ATs in it... don't worry about asking questions ill be glad to answer them.

Ah, I just checked out that thread, there's some interesting stuff in there.
Especially the Glide-Butt.

Now, I know how to do lagless landings and other easy stuff, and the occasional
B-Reversed Africa Punch, but, I need git gud with DK, methinks. It will take practice.

Will is a bad influence, giving people false hope that DK is actually good.
