And where are the best places to find the old TVs with no input lag?

Also, are there old TVs that do have input lag? or is it just the Plasmas, etc?

It's important to have as many tv's as set ups you have, and outs important to have as many as you can.

You can find lots of old CRTs PM craigslist.

HD televisions lag because they take the time to upscale the resolution to their native 1080 before rendering it. The Wii puts out 480p natively iirc, and crts can natively display this.

Actually plasma's and LCD's just plain take longer to update the screen, the upscaling just makes it even worse

Generally strive for a 3:1 player-setup ratio at smaller events. At bigger ones this becomes impossible very quickly.

Yea I just came back from a small tournament and can agree with Strong Bad's 3:1 ratio. We had about 20ish people around and at least 7 set ups available at all times.

My tournaments run for about 4 hours with a 1:10 ratio. We don't actually have it set like that on purpose, that's just how many we usually have. Usually 30 players, 3 full set ups.

I thought it ran 480i natively...? Not to mention there's not a lot of CRT TVs that can even take all the plugs the Wii needs for 480p.

**** i didn't even think about 480p... Is that vital for tournaments or would the basic red/blue/white be okay?

I think you'd be fine with the standard AV cables.
