Is it Just Me or Something's Wrong About the Blast Lines

Sorry to ask a n00b question, but i'll just go on with it:

I just have this queer hunch about the blast lines. Once, i was launched up far and fast but i survived (i passed quite far above the TV screen). On the other hand, i also got launched quite weakly the other time but just as i past the upper screen line i found my self star ko'ed and this thing happened in the same stage (FD if i'm not wrong). Is it just my feeling or are the blast lines suddenly moves??? I'm quite perplexed about this!

Ok, so i watched it and saw the differences. That explains a lot. Thank you.

But the problem now is, i still don't really understand a DI. Is it like, pushing the stick in some other direction when you got hit to alter the trajectory? Or did i misunderstand this whole DI thing???

Note: About that Link successfully survives Weegee's taunt, i gotta say it is awesome...

You had it right, it alters the trajectory. Also if you use certain attacks, it will slow down your air speed so you won't fly as far.

What's the best time to DI??? And what's the time window to DI??? Do we have to have this incredibly fast reflexes or is there a large window for us to do this thing???

(sorry about the thread suddenly changes into me asking about DI's...)

When you fly away, you do your fastest aerial, then you fastfall, then you double jump. Always alter your trajectory so that you fly towards the corner. You got a decent timewindow. You'll be in hitstun where you can't do anything after you get for a small time, but Brawl has nearly no hitstun, so don't worry about it.

I think you have to DI as soon as you are hit. Amd like pizzapie said, using aerials and FASTFALLING them will slow you down even more.

Your picture is yoshi, do you use him?

If you do, if you escape hitstun with his fastest aerial(i think it's u air)) and use egg roll, it cancels all momentum...but it puts you in helpless

just a thought

when you get hit you have 3 frames of hitlag
in these three frames you can change your direction in which you fly
if you fly horizontally you have to DI in the top left/right corner of your TV cuz this is the longest way til your char dies.
if you fly vertically you have to DI left/right (same reason like above)

HERE A USEFUL THREAD FOR YA: http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=221969
i hope that will help^^
good luck dude^^

aah and to your first question
the stages have all different cellings
like lylat cruise have a high vertikal celling means that it will be hard to kick you out vertikal
battlefield has a low vertikal celling etc

sry for my bad english ;)
