Marth lunges pretty far forward in Brawl, the comparison picture isn't necessarily the same 'point' in the animation. We won't really know until we see it in game if its stretching more forward or anything like that.Marth is lunging forward even more so now. We already knew Falchion was at its Melee length but, so this must reach really far out. This Shield Breaker seems like it is going to be a lot of fun.
That may be true, but this version has more range I believe. The charged swing is more effective for edgeguarding. I think it'll be possible to switch into this move via customisable moves.
It was actually a decent mixup in Brawl, but it doesn't break shields that well uncharged, so I agree. As a veteran Marth main in Melee, I'll miss his old sword swing.
But then again, maybe this time it'll actually break shields and become useful.
But the custom version is a single bound. His shieldbreaker in brawl does that already. And you can do it multiple times where the consecutive ones require no charging to maintain the same momentum.
I see what you mean, but the ground dash version was shown as a custom move in the direct. It could be the same momentum effect except customized for ground use.Looked to me like a fully charged aerial shieldbreaker
