Mortar Slide?

I was just curious how to do this without hitting your opponent first. That is the only way I have been able to do it and I would appreciate some help.

The easiest way is to use a Gamecube controller. Dash left or right, then down on the C-Stick, and just after Snake grunts from the attack, press up and Z at the same time. With good timing, it can be executed all the time.

You can do it with the Wii Remote by setting 'attack' to down on the D-Pad and up-smash to up on the D-Pad

Why is it so confusing? I did'nt know you had to hit them when I learned it. I just did what people said and it works. Just c stick down to up and z real fast and you'll start skeetin across the stage. Holding up and z will charge it too. And dont play with the wii mote

The easiest way to do it is with the Gamecube controller as you dash into someone as it connects hit up on the c-stick and you'll mortar slide.
