I would make an account and comment, but everyone there would disagree with me.

I personally wouldn't buy a Brawl 2.0.

Hmm if they created an Online Mode for Melee I still think it wouldn't work... Seeing what online Brawl play is like lol.

Imagine trying to Drillshine O.o...

good to hear.. but most people seem to want melee 2.0, heh
Most people HERE.

Check the others boards on the forum (particularly the character pages) and you'll find that people don't seem to mind it as much and are actually putting effort into evolving the metagame.

Just look at the comments on that link.
SSB for the DS?! Are they out of their minds?! That'd be terrible D:
And would I have a Brawl sequel? I'd rather have brawl first....

I would prefer DLC, but I would happily shell out more money for brawl 2, assuming it has more characters, and they fix up the gameplay/online flaws.

It's way too soon to make a sequel, course.... I'd still buy it. LOL Brawl is good just the way it is. It will be YEARS until another one comes out, if there is another one.

I'm not really in the mood for a long rambling post on my thoughts on this, so I'll just say that I'm interested in a DS Smash.

Still, if they want a Brawl sequel out on the Wii as well, that's not bad either. I'd buy it of course, but it'd be... odd. I'm not sure. Just an interesting story all round, really.

I like gekkos.

Smash for DS:

The Y, X, A, and B buttons could act as the special moves and non-special moves buttons, as well was jumping ('cause jumping with the D-Pad sucks).

R or L could be the sheild button (or both, but then we'd have to use only sheild grabbing, which would be a pain for me on the DS) and the other the grab button.

The stylus could be used for the menu.

The only thing that would be missing is the C-stick.

I would be for a sequel. They could:

-add more characters (obviously)
-add more stages (each character should have their own stage).
-cut the fluff (SSE, Masterpieces, etc...)
-Upgrade Stage Builder

Assuming they made the sequel, I'd like to see it geared more towards the multiplayer aspect. SSE was terribly broken, terribly designed, and the story made no sense.

I like your thinkin' Dede. This is the way to go!
You is needed to be the director of this possible game. =o

I'm just using this bit to whine, really. I think SSE should just be changed to some more generic Adventure Mode kinda thing. Really, as you said, multiplayer is where it's at. What bugged me most was the crappy design and the story. Christ! Why try and make something so "epic" with MUTE characters? Who the hell thought it'd be a swell idea? Rrr! Banana pie...
/rant

Yeah.. I really hated SSE. :(:embarrass

I'd seriously just take out SSE and plonk in the old Adventure Mode. Sure, it was great, but at least it was playable. A better online would be great as well. Plus some improvements over smaller things like the 3-min replay limit. Why not 10?

What an awkward and train-of-thought style post.

Although I hated SSE as well, I enjoyed the cutscenes. If they strung a story together with standard character matches, boss battles and possibly (SHORT!) platform levels I think it would be alright. As far as gameplay went in SSE it seemed like they tried to put a Smash Bros. game into a Kirby Superstar formula (Tabuu is Marx's twin brother). Also... what's with the retardo enemies? They should have included enemies from all of the respective character's world's. If they would fix the Adventure Mode in those aspects I think it would be playable.

The survey is obviously for future purposes.

From my point of view, its likely that we're gonna get a Smash 4 in the future.

But that would be in at least 5-6 years.

I don't even have Brawl and they are already thinking of a secuel... greedy *******s.

I would think that Brawl would be enough, but seeing how many people here are not happy with the game then I will have to wait (and wait) to make an oppinion

How is SSE unplayable? Yes, it can get repetative, but there's absolutely nothing to make it incapable of getting completed.

I will admit that some characters are better than others for it... For example, I've found myself using characters in it that I normally suck with in normal Brawls because the ones I do well with in normal Brawls weren't proving to be very useful. Figuring out which were the most effective was easy too, since most of the cast gets at least some playtime before Subspace.

Not liking it doesn't make the mode "unplayable".

maybe, but these people here are not N's main target these days, so they'll release a new one anyway.

"Unplayable" as in "Unbearable to keep going with". I found myself honestly wishing it would end soon, just so I can have it over and done with and get to Wolf and Toon Link. I really was begging for it to end.

It is playable gameplay wise, but there it was pretty awful as well. The enemies were overpowered, the camera was shocking, and every level as the same deal over again. The Smash forumla just didn't work well with SSE at all. I myself thought it should have been a stamina mode kinda thing, with a cap on the knockback.

All in all, I just can't shake off the idea that SSE was just... bad. :(

I'd rather see a smash bros on the DS than a 2nd one for the wii.

One thing they could do is change up the controls. I dont think that the ways its played/controlled would suit the DS well. Because Im sure there are things that the DS is capable of that the other controllers arent. Perhaps using the touch screen in a similar manner to Metroid Prime Hunters where the screen had buttons as well as the sliding action from over the screen

Ofcourse, if it was on DS. They might cut back on characters etc.

On a side note, I havnt played the SSBBSSE. I'll probably get the characters from playing vs matches anyway.

I would pick it up but I would be mad that I had to spend another 50 bucks. I like brawl the way it is. Now a smash on the DS I've wanted that since the DS came out.

I think they should make SSE more puzzle oriented and having to switch between characters instead of mindless battles against hordes of enemies. Just something like using PK thunder to activate something far away, pits you have to glide over, absorbing certain projectiles with GAW and unleash on a certain thing, use certain elements to advance like fire to burn stuff, electricity to power up things etc. (admittedly I haven't played the game, but as far as I know, there's no stuff like that and just fighting)
I think that'd make it much more enjoyable

Brawl 2?....
3 words: Rayman4 Raving Rabbids(1/2)......
Anyway, we all know that a new Smash would suck terribly, Sakurai stated right from the beginning that he's not gonna make a Smash4, if it'll ever be made he won't be in charge of it, and that already makes the game be bad.

..........are you serious? Honestly? Most of the flawed aspects of brawl was because of sakurai. Anyone but sakurai being in charge of brawl 2 would be a GOOD thing.

SSE was awesome, I don't know what you guys are smoking. It was not repetitive, the levels changed up and ideas flow differently with each level. The storyline was confusing though, Sakurai should have given an intro description in the instruction manual... that is what was missing.

As for Smash 4
Please fix Sonic to where maybe his spin dash or something does more damage and can kill someone...
Add more characters (Mewtwo, Knuckles, King K. Rool, Krystal, and Megaman)
Add more bosses to SSE and add on to it (Robotnik, King K. Rool, Tatanga, Bowser Jr., Koopalings, Dr. Wiley, anything).
Put enemies from series in it (Where are Ganondorf's minions? Waddle Dees and Kirby villians, Samus villians, etc. Only enemies I really liked where Primids, ROBs, and Mario characters, the rest where dumb looking.)

BTW of course you want to rush it when you first play SSE because you want to get Toon Link and Wolf. I did too. That was Sakurai's mistake. SSE is good if you don't rush it and play it right.

Also finally, please do AI characters for SSE that are on your side, it doesn't look right seeing Link, Mario, Kirby, Yoshi, and Pit run in the cave and then only one or two of them are fighting. Do to them what Tails was in Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and 3.

good i hope someone else makes smash 4.... maybe they will make smash competetive again.... because as is he only made smash to be a party game.... not a tournament worthy game.. im not really coming into this thread to have the melee brawl debate....because there is no real debate to be had anymore...facts are facts....but hopefully if they make smash 4 it will have a much higher competetive ceiling than brawl does

Cause clearly everyone else in the world thinks like you.

This is what ticks me off about people who anyone other than Sakurai can make a better brawl game. They don't take in the fact that there's a good chance the new director could be more noob friendly or could just somehow **** up the series entirely.

I enjoyed SSE more than Brawl's multiplayer.

I'd like Smash 4 to have a significantly different engine/mechanics than Brawl. And a better Stage Builder (I have this craaaazy idea about making custom Adventure-styled games...)

No, they're talking about making another one for the Wii, which would mean less than 5-6 years. Maybe 2-3 years(they'll probably just simply take Brawl and add a couple things to Brawl and resell it instead of trying to make a new game from scratch).

Just like the article said, Nintendo knows that it'd be stupid NOT to make another sequel to SSBB because the SSB is a huge franchise.

Though, what Nintendo "is" trying is to see if people would like to see a SSB4 sooner(AKA appearing on the Wii, instead of the 8th gen console for Nintendo).

Personally, it depends how much more they'll add in SSB4.

If they add:
1. Better online
2. Better stage builder.
3. Possibly add a lot more options to satisfy everyone(AKA, add options to make it play like Melee or Brawl). For example, let us enable or disable Wavedashing and other things like that.
4. Allow up to 6 player FFA(It'd be a little chaotic with 6 players but it'd be fun).
5. I don't really care about new characters too much(since I'm pretty content with the characters) but of course, add more characters.
6. If they do a single player again, make it like SSE "EXCEPT" have computer allies also help you out and include more boss battles BUT include LESS platforming/random enemy fighting.

About SSE, personally I enjoyed it and really like the cutscenes and stuff. Of course I hated the last stage(the maze one) and the second to last stage.

The last stage forced us to make the entire game over again. That was ridiculous and it was really tedious.
Otherwise, I enjoyed the Adventure Mode.

The second to last stage(Subspace) was bad. I hated having to "refind" everyone again. So we lost all our characters and now we have to look for them in a stage, which was kind of lame.

Yes, definately. Brawl is really good at the moment, but they still can afford to fix some flaws they've overlooked in the game. This includes lack of fan-favorite characters, lack of competitivity, and all the other things people have been complaining about ever since the Japanese release. I'd also like an SE2 to explain the origins of Master Hand, Crazy Hand, and most epecially Tabuu.

Still, I'm happy with the way Brawl is right now.
