I hear a lot of people lamenting how you can't dashdance or it's gone from the game.
I can understand from a philosophical/strategic point that dashdancing is useless now, but it is 100% in the game still. Sure, it takes about 2-3x the finger dexterity to pull off and it gives you a pretty good chance of tripping (what doesn't?), but it's still in the game.

Is it the tripping part that people complain about dashdancing being gone for, or do people honestly not realize that you can still do it? :ohwell:

And has anyone else tried implementing it into their game? I don't do it often just because the speed you have to go to pull it off is painful, but I find that it really doesn't leave me tripping as often as it could since I don't do it for huge stretches at a time... and when I do do it it seems just as effective as dash dancing in melee.

yea, I agree, it does help in matches still. I use it but sometimes it doesn't come out and i get punished. I still have to practice it before I use it in competitive play.

Dash dancing has lost most of its usefullness. The window for the dancing frames is way too small, and makes it really difficult to psych your opponent out now. All they have to do is fsmash, and theres basically nothing you can do about it besides hope you don't trip and hope that you can still dash cancel with your shield. =/

I don't have that much of a trouble with tripping when I dash dance. You just have to make sure that you're accurate when you move the stick back and forth. If you move it diagonally or dash dance too sloppy, you end up falling.

I'm sure if you play around with it you'll find some applications. It can still have the same effect as it did in Melee at certain positions from your opponent, and if you expect to trip you shouldn't be screwed over by it..
