I'm use to playing Smash Bros. on a GameCube controller nowadays, but I'm sick of the wired controller that never reaches where I want it to go. It's obvious some people have played the JP version of game, and I was wondering if anyone has played using the Wiimote, and if it still feels and plays well for the game? If not do you think I should just get a Wavebird wireless GC controller?

I read the button layout on the official Brawl site, and the thing I'm not too sure about is using the D-pad to move. Especially when some moves require a certain angle for wall-clinging. So, what do you guys think of the Wiimote for playing Brawl? Or should I stick with the GC controller.

you might as well get a wavebird if the wire bothers you that much. i personally am gonna play with the wiimote + nunchuk, i want a new way to experience playing Smash.

I tried wiimote once in training out of curiosity. Couldn't play more than like two minutes because it sucked so hard. It's not comfortable or fun to play like that at all. Check it out yourself when you get the game but at least use the nunchuck at the same time. It just won't work without it.

Though if you've played melee a lot with GC controller but are tired of wires I'd say go for wavebird. I'm using one at the moment but should probably buy a new one since the analog doesn't seem to work perfectly always.

folks over at IGN actually enjoy playing the game with wiimote...couldn't hurt to give it a shot...

i believe they talked about it in their wii-kly podcast.

The Wiimote, from a tournament player prospective, is horrible.
I wouldn't recommend it.
Double Tap to run = >:C

And yes I do have brawl before people say "Opinionist" or something along those lines.

Just play with what feels right for you. If you like the wiimote then use it, its that simple... Why would you have to ask someone else how a controller feels or plays when everyone has there own personal preference...

wiimote + nunchuck can be set to be similar to GC controller. The only difference is B button. I don't know who would prefer single wiimote over the rest

I actually don't mind playing Brawl with a wiimote+nunchuck. After I got used to it, it felt alright. Playing with the wiimote itself is just hard for me. x___x;

I believe that I'm the only one in the world that likes the wired, regular gamecube controller over the wave bird. I don't know why, it just feels more natural to me. But I have a black gamecube and black controllers, and when I use purple controlers I hate them and I want to use a wavebird.
