i had the impression, that if you do UpB, while someone is edgehogging you, and you go really close, and you UpB straight onto the edge, so you kinda press against the wall, but then still land ON it, you have less landing lag

example on 1:08

this is kinda what i mean, but not the extrem, i think it can be even less...

is this a known fact, or just a rumor, i guess a lot of ppl have noticed this...

i play alot against a falco who will always(!) edgehog me, so i do it quite often...

tell me what you think, it´d be awesome if someone could really test it

maybe the game recognises the time that you aren´t really up on the ledge, but still kinda at the edge , as landing time, and reduces the lag

i´ll try to find a better example of it, wish me luck :D

thanks for the clear answer ;)

then why doesnt anyone ever try to do it in tourney matches and stuff, if i manage to pull it off, it always rescues me from getting edgeguarded

O.o

those are some pretty solid reasons... "to close to your opponent"

if cant teleport straight, which is the case if it works like this, you´d not be much further away anyways, and have much more lag

plus, if they roll, you´re save, cause they cant reach you before you can shield or w/e

the only chance for them to hit you is time the normal get up really good and perform the edgeguard right after

true, might not work against uber-pros, but it´ll make it harder to edgeguard anyway, especially if you mix it up with normal recovery

As far as I can tell, you're somehow rising up and yet getting interrupted, so the Vanish lag is landfallspecial lag (landing after falling from the Vanish) instead of landlag (reappearing on ground). Really weird, but definitely less lag.

It's very useful to do on purpose because against space animals, even if you go far on the stage with your upb Fox has no problem catching up and usmashing and Falco can usually catch you as well with a fsmash.

So with Fox you're gonna get ***** if he hits with it anyway, so it's good to use often. With Falco if he guesses wrong on his fsmash you recover and may even be able to follow up. Even if they don't guess wrong they'll be close to you so they can't sweet spot the fsmash = easy to DI = you live anyway.

how bout Yomi-UpB cancel, because Yomi means Mindgame, and it´s a tactic to throw ppl off

short:Yomi-Cancel

lol, or we just leave it at : "wierd pushing up the ledge resulting in less landing lagtime" cause nobody will ever use this anyways, before brawl is out ^^
