I was watching KDJ's matches from MLG long island and it seemed that against fast fallers KDJ's shiek opted to use F throw and B throw instead of D throw or U throw. I am very new to playing sheik so I was wondering why he did this. I was assuming it was because he was trying to get them closer to the edge so he could get in his filthy f air edge guard. Also I was wondering ( I know it depends on DI and %s) but what are some of the optimal throw combos against FFs with sheik?

I have seen a video of sheik doing something with a dair to a smash up to a ftilt to a dash attack to a ftilt again to a fair and gg, this was done after a tech chase if this doesn't count as a combo i don't know what is.

What he does is probably lead to a tech chase. The thing is, he throws them near the ledge to give them slightly less options, and most likely some pressure, since dthrow/uthrow only leads to gay combos starting at a bit higher percent.

It depends on the both the FF with the sheik, cause at times people may di wrong or miss the tech if you try a F throw compared to a D throw which may give you the opportunity to grab again or to tilt some more.

dont throw up, throw down
ive heard counters for both. pros nihonjin throw up, and I recall seeing a video of some other pro, I think it was Forward but am not sure, where they kept uthrowing, attempting to punch after at low percents or follow up with a ftilt. but most sheiks throw down. if dthrow is the best option, why do some pros throw up then?

From what I've seen Nihonjin does uthrow-fair-regrab on fastfallers, KDJ is a great edgeguarder so I can kind of see a reason to fthrow/bthrow.

Uthrow is only good for the gimmicky uthrow jab once or twice or platform chasing. or if you play PAL where dthrow can be DIed to a ridiculous extent to the point where it is almost useless.

D-throw is the best throw to use against fast fallers because its easy to tech chase, unless your close to the edge and throw them off to edge guard.

uthrow with sheik is good on spacies if you want to platform harass them, or if you know they'll DI away you can uthrow-->jab-->regrab.

uthrow under a platform, then when they are on the platform, jump above the platform and waveland straight down quickly, then grab wherever they are, most likely sheilding a wrongly-anticipated attack. it always works unless they expect it for some reason. I learned this by watching forward play. good stuff.

Hm 90% of the time I d-throw, I u-throw if I know their going to tech on a platform, it's a free F-air then.

B-throw and f-throw are sort of predictable if you're near the ledge but it gets them off the stage.

Mix up your game.
