I'm sure this has been discovered or whatever but I found it out on my own and I think it looks sweet.

Everyone knows about sliding Sheik's upB when running toward an edge to get an edgehog. Basically you just do that on Japes but rather than returning to your edge you go across to the side one.

It's more flashy than anything, but you do get to take advantage of the invulnerability of Sheik's upB while crossing the water and get 1 free lagless attack (the explosion). If you hit you can (obviously) get another arial in from the ledge.

At first, I thought you meant crossing from the far edges of the side platforms towards the middle ones. Now I know you meant from a middle edge to the inside of a side platform.

Yeah probably. Seeing that it can only be used on Japes (haven't really checked to see if other stages have anything similar) you'd only get the opportunity to use it during counter picks.

But that being said, I don't see this technique really being used offensively but just a safe way of moving around between the platforms. It's kinda like Falco's sideB, but harder to pull off.

I have that exact thing in the vid on my sig. Works on Green Greens and the other DK vid.
It could be used against fast fallers if ur tilting them close to the edge so u cna pull off the running vanish.

I kinda saw you do it at around 7:20 in the vid from the rock to the log. Didn't really see what I was talking about but I think you know what I mean. I just did it on Green Greens, pretty hard with all the blocks and bombs, but yeah, works exactly the same there.

thx, but yeah in the vid i just did it messing around. But sometimes you can catch someone off gaurd if they are waiting ont the other for u to do something (thinking u will jump)

Yeah I like Japes from playing as Samus. So I thought I'd messed around with the level with other characters hehe.

Yeah thats the same thing i had in the vid, just the rock to the log was a shorter distance
But if you can shino ledge stall good u might want to try the sliding vanish into a shino ledge stall. I gaurantee if they are camping they will try to hit u when they see u run then get hit by the ledgestall explosion

its a shame i never play on japes so this will never be useful. on another note, i am the only advanced sheik in the world who cant do that sliding vanish. its so hard for me. im such a noob...peace

that's really funny, the day you discovered it (the 21st)....is the same day I discovered it..go figure. That's my counterpickable level. You can do some pretty sweet tricks from ledge to ledge (not using your second jump) it's kindof mindgames, but yeah I've already been able to use this discovery in my actual play. It's fun either way.
