Sheik vs. Jiggz (vid included): need help.

St. Viers(Sheik) vs. Gian(Jigglypuff) on FD

This person is the only guy I have trouble beating. I win in this vid, but barely....I need to see if I can get others up, as he wins like 60% of the time (more often on FD, DL, less so on other stages).

Advice on what I'm doing wrong would be appreciated! Also, is it usual to have to change how you play against jiggz as opposed to other characters (even other floaters like samus, peach..)?

I'm no expert, but it looked to me like there were times when you could have been more aggressive, or at least more proactive. For instance, in the beginning of the match you just shield when he's charging his rollout (is that what it's called?) and at one point it costs you a stock. One needle will knock him out of that and you start doing it later so that's good. You also let him camp with the WoP in the beginning; but later you use needles to force him to you. I think you'd benefit if you could do this more consistently to put the pressure on him. There are also times when you knocked him down and could have followed up but didn't. It just seemed like there were some missed opportunities for combos. I know this is all rather general advice but I hope it helps.

Yeah, I gotta go with ein on this one...you seemed a little defensive...but don't worry, you're better than me >_<

Btw...I hate to be a pain in the *** nag, but when ya gonna update the Doc finder, St. Viers? Jus sayin...

heh, because he utterly owns me when I go offensive...obviously I am offensively challenged.

If you take a look at brickman's vids versus jiggs you'll notice that he uses the reach of the back air to remain safe while still being offensive.

^heh I do that...obviously not enough. I seem to use it more on stages with platforms (strange--probably some pyscological reason for that...meh) It always seems like I miss and get punished for it.

Another b-air question: It doesn't outrange puff's pound does it?...:/

thanks for the tip though. I'll work on spacing b-airs better

Hey that's my Jiggly....o_o

:)You should definately do more uairs on me and not fairs. Uairs send Jiggly flying even at 50%, fairs lets me tech the ground or some other platform available.

btw..tell chris to upload vids of me winning so I can use them as examples too...<_<

don´t be offensive agisnt a jiggs...
if you´re running in, you´ll get a bair or fair in teh face, no chance
you know jiggs will try to stay on a spot and camp bairs, just force her to be offensive by throwing needles (wd back- needle ..... .. )
if she approaches, (forced to fulljump) you can shield the attack, and if she spaces away from you, either continue to needle, or try to be faster with a fair (or uair, i play pal, so i´m not used to uairs)
so, if she double jumps after an aerial, fair her
if she lands, camp, or try to wait for a mistake

dont ever try to force an attack through the pound, wait till the pund is over, and then slap or Bair her, thats how you edgeguard, too.

if you throw her, just stick with slap or Uair...

i Pal shieks throw is a lot diffrent, so you can follow with dashattack or slap, not with uair or slap, so i cant give any more tipps there...

well, dont be impatient, thats the most important thing...
at one point in the match you ran against.... ... 5 bairs in a row.. i think..
just needle it :D its just a baloon, it´ll be wrecked by needles xD

1.Bair is a good choice to break up the WoPing, so if she SH bairs all the time, try to get your leg in between
2. dont get hit by the rollout, come on...
if she charges on the ground, needle her, if she´s up high,
WD back and needle her, or spotdodge..., or fair or whatever
mean trick: if you´re standing really close to teh ledge, shield (or spotdodge), and then let go , so you´ll be hit from behind, the jiggs will fal off the stage, and you´ll be hit into the stage

ooh ooh, i can help i can help. aight dude, one of my teammates plays jiggs and he is the guy i end up playing the most since he lives 3 mins from me. i recently learned how to beat him 90% of the time. im pretty consistent. it really is simple. GRAB!!!!!!! you just have to mind game him into grabs. then jab as much as you can. dthrow into fair if he DI's in front or upair if they DI up. MY WHOLE ENTIRE GAME PLAN AGAINST JIGGS IS TO BAIT HIM INTO A GRAB!!!! trust me it works. but i was watching you and you just stand there and wavedash back and forth. that doesnt accomplish jack. dont do that. instead dash dance around.try to cover a greater distnace so he uses and aerial. once he does one if your fast enough you can catch him with a really quick nair. also once they go in the air they usually will stay there for more than one aerial. wait for them to land and be really fast and grab them as they land. always jab before you throw. those hits rack up. needle camp. do falling needles into grabs. or if he likes to roll around you. tech chase into a grab. or if hes spot dodging, do jabs into grab.if your grabbing the ledge, wait for a pound and bair him or nair him. sheik pwns jiggs lol. DO NOT GET UPTILTED TO REST!!!! that **** is a *****...peace

- Camp needles.
- Pressure his shield. Do it right and you can't get shield grabbed. Fair into jab or fair into ftilt all the time. Land and ftilt. It ***** so hard because it has little lag, cannot be touched when spaced properly, and usually leads into a follow-up fair.
- Camp needles.
- Dash dance
- WD on / off platforms and spam your bair. It's lagless, has good knockback and has a ton of space. Can also go right into a ftilt.
- Camp needles
- Predict his jumps and nair him in-between his spam

Just bait him into things. If you play Sheik right she has a lagless game and every time they try to punish you, they'll whiff and you get a grab into ****. You wouldn't believe how often you can intentionally do a move right into their shield and immediately follow up with a ftilt that hits them because they were impatient and your moves are lagless. Or a nair that barely nicks their shield and they try to respond but can't because you spaced it well.

Sheik camps better than Jiggs. When in doubt, run, charge needles, camp, spam bair.

I play jiggs and this is what kills me.

Spamming needles hurts jiggs and makes her have to come to you allowing you to play defensive.

Dash attacks and dash grabs dont work very well against a crouch happy jiggs such as my self. It will just get you rested. Down smashes work much better.

Tilts work so well against jiggs. And usally lead into a sheik punch :(.

Usally I can crounch cancel a shorthop sheik punch and then rest but if you arpoach with a shorthop sheik punch then jab right after you can grab almost everytime.

I didnt see one tilt in the video. It works realy well.
