SHFFLing to Fair

I don't know if its the fact that I'm just lazy, or that it didn't really come to my mind until now, but a few days ago I realized that I don't incorporate the Fast Fall into my SHFFLing with G&W. So, I've decided to work on fixing this problem. SHFFLing with Nair and Dair are pretty easy, but I'm having a bit of trouble getting the hang of doing it with Fair. The problem is that I can't execute it in time for it to actually help me in battle. By the time I get the combo in, I'm already being pounded across the stage. It's probably just the fact that I'm not used to it yet, but does anyone have any advice on how I can speed up this process?

We've all been there=D
When I practice shuffling, I usually do it in one spot, then when I feel comfortable, move around with it. Practice it with a cpu, preferably with a human player so you don't develop bad habits. As with anything, practice makes perfect.

P.S. Your two character mirror mine, just with a role reversal.

Thanks for the help. :)

Oh, and Pikachu used to be my main with G&W as my secondary, but I eventually switched because Game & Watch is more fun to use in my opinion.
