For the final DLC fighter, I contemplated among a Nintendo character, a Konami character, and a Square Enix characterbased on the nominations below. To help narrow things down further, here were the ideas that I was entertaining: a deep cut Nintendo pick (i.e. Ness resubmission), a second pokemon, Bomberman, Hero, or Cloud. In the end, I went with Hero given Square Enix’s contribution to RPGs, and I see Hero in this timeline as an interesting foil to For’s Cloud.

Ryu (Street Fighter)
A Capcom character makes a lot of sense and while Mega Man would be great, Street Fighter is probably the bigger series right now and gives us a new genre rep.

Lara Croft (Tomb Raider)

One of only a handful of 3rd Parties not in Ultimate that I feel has the star power to warrant a spot on this roster. Much like Sonic, Lara has gone from being associated with a rival console to being a multiplatform character that has had numerous Nintendo appearances. Nintendo has been promoting Tomb Raider collections on Switch recently, with two trilogy collections being made available. Among our 3rd Party cast, her being a realistic human character also helps her stand out from the two cartoony mascots we've added so far, providing a similar contrast like in Brawl with Sonic and Snake.

Grassland Groove
Players fight on the platform in the Middle which will rock back and forth. A tall Zebra head platform will appear at the side for an extra platform. Eventually Snowmad ships will appear run the background c and the main platform will ice over, becoming slippy.

Fighters can go into the mirrors to jump across the stage.
