Knuckles performs a powerful straight punch, shooting a medium blast of Chaos Energy forward.
He could shoot three energy blasts (Mash "B") or ignite his arm to shoot a flame blast (Hold "B").
Pressing "B" after the first two attacks of his jab makes Knuckles rapidly shoot blasts of lightning.

Side Special: Drill Spin Boost
Knuckles rapidly spins around while gliding forward, taking the form of a burning drill in the process.
This can drag opponents with him, destroy shields on contact and negate the use of a counterattack.
Drill Spin Boost becomes faster if struck by fire projectiles or slower if struck by water/ ice projectiles.

Up Special: Spiral Upper
Knuckles engulfs one of his hands in flames, then performs a jumping uppercut while spinning around.
This also drags opponents along with him and finishes with an overhead punch at its maximum height.
Spiral Upper will gain more power and height if it's performed while Knuckles is dashing at max speed.

Down Special: Fire Dunk
Knuckles engulfs one of his hands in flames while charging forward to grab any opponnent nearby.
After grabbing an opponent, he jumps into the air, then throw them downward as a fiery projectile.
The opponent will cause an explosion on impact, damaging any other opponents who are in range.

Shield Special: Shovel Claws
Knuckles uses his claws to dig through the ground, avoiding attacks from any opponent above him.
Press "B" again or wait five seconds to uppercut. In used mid-air, he'll perform a spinning claw dive.
This leaves behind burrows which Knuckles could travel through again or use to trap any opponent.

Final Smash: Volcanic Dunk
Knuckles jumps high into the air while engulfing one of his hands in flames, then dives downward to punch the ground.
The punch creates a volcanic eruption which makes the earth shake violently and shooting several fireballs into the sky.
If Volcanic Dunk is performed while mid-air, Knuckles' diving punch can create a powerful shockwave of flames instead.
