Starting the match against.....(lasers hurt!)

Sorry for the long read.....

I need a better way to start my matches against Falco and Fox!!! Against other characters, I usually have two different starts to a match. First, dash and then SH to F-air followed by d-air (occasionally i change up to like SH to a quick DT or N-air, etc.) or second, throw a quick BAS then approach for multiple options.

Right now, I use the second method against the two space animals. It works okay, but sometimes I take about 10-15% damage fast and that makes me so mad/paranoid. I have to work hard against these two to get an okay beginning that will work for me. Fox's gun can really rack up damage while Falco's can too but also stun me so much where my plans succumb and I can't do anything then he becomes the early aggressor.

How should I begin my matches fighting these opponents? Do I just camp early and dodge the crazy lasers!? Do you have your own other methods of starting a match other than just charging AS? Do you have problems against other characters right when you start a match?

Discuss....

BTW Are you suppose to DI backwards when stuck in Fox/Falco's Jab Combo???

Well I'm going to be the first gay responder.

Own him in the air. Do not charge Aura Spheres initially or you will be laser locked. Do not stay long distances. Keep up pressure, dont get laser locked. If you will, keep a fully charged Aura Sphere because a Falco player will use his reflector out of suspicion.

Ok bored already.

Gonna go take my gay elsewhere.

I just crouch until they decide to stop camping out of boredom usually. Or crawl up and dtilt or jump into some aerials.

Ok, Ok I'll keep that in mind. Thinking about being laser-lock makes me have nightmares.

Lol I'm bored too.....

Alright....I'll try this definitely but I don't know if I'll like it. It does sound like it will work for the most part. Thanks :D

yeah pit's arrow (unguided) will miss you crouched, but all the lasers will.

usually i jump at the beginning of the match. if there's no platforms, i try and take the fight to him, if there are platforms, i'll try camping at the beginning and switching between platforms to charge an aura sphere and then try to stay close to him and in the air for the rest of the match.

i don't fight fox or falco that much though. usually wolf, who's painfully easy to dodge lol ;/

Like every character without a crouch/crouch worth using, simpy jumping over them and landing in a favorable area to not get punished works well. Fox's lasers have no hitstun. He won't use them while grounded if you have the possibility to hit him within a second's time. Falco's lasers are actually integrated into his play, but if they're just being gay sitting there and spamming them, then do the same as you would against a grounded Fox. If either of them are shdl approaching/camping/retreating, just know that upon landing they have no lag from blaster and can get in your face pretty quickly.

honestly if your good the occasional reverse DT approach because heres how it goes [laser fire constantly>use DT> get a decent advance on them while coming out invincible for a couple of frames.]

Make sure you mix it up a little, doing the same thing each match will get you punished..

Also, use the stage you are on to your advantage! Like dr00 said, using platforms makes their lasering harder, and I think it is worth 5 to 10 % to get a fully charged AS...
