I really hope so since I never got a chance to own Smash 64 but it really wouldn't make a difference since I would most likely pick it up for 10 minutes and forget about it. (Just like every single VC game I've ever downloaded.)

I think I'll pick it up if I have any extra cash lying about; me and my friend booted up SSB64 on his N64 for the first time in at least 7 years (Well, that's how long I've gone without the original SSB, anyway) and it was fun as hell and very nostalgic.Reminded me of why I didn't like Melee after how many hours I put into it...well, Melee ain't BAD, I just prefer the way the original controls and the physics, honestly.

It seems like in every thread I spot at least one person who, without a doubt, browses /v/.

Anyway, it would be awesome to see SSB on the VC. Probably the first VC game I get.

Why would anyone buy Brawl then immediately want the original? IMO, it was dumb not to release it back in December after the game got delayed for the first time.

I mean I have Melee and will buy Brawl. What exactly do I need the original for?

Im sure it will be released on that day or soon after.

Ill get it, plus theres always the slight possibility (only slight) of online play, so thats an extra plus (maybe)

But really, Im waiting for Dk64, they put the first 3 DKC games out there, now just need to wait for this one, and Im set.

WOW! now i realize why nobody downloaded Ocarina of Time or A Link to the Past...because they had Twilight Princess!! RIGHT?? I know that this is a "fighting" game but c'mon!!!

My point wasn't that it was useless to put the game out there, but to put it out there right when the new game comes out is a terrible strategy. If they had put it out there in December when everyone thought they'd be getting Brawl, they probably would sell twice as many copies as they would have just because everyone wanted Smash.

I'm not going to buy a fighting game's sequel and then immediately decide I want to play the original. If I buy the original, it will be like 4-6 months after I get Brawl. What do I need two fighting games with the same characters and same basic gameplay for?

Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess are wholly different games. Smash 1 and Smash 3 are not.

And BTW it is worth mentioning that Ocarina of Time was not released at the same time as TP. Nor were any Mario games. Nor was Paper Mario. They were all released a few months before or after the new game was out.

It is dumb to expect people to want a prequel to a game they just bought right away. They should either have put it up in December, or even January, or keep it on the shelf until the summer.

I did get your point man, but nobody is pointing a gun to your head telling ya to download and play it the same day or weeks later.

I wish they could have put Smash 64 up last month or something when more people would have been excited. But it does look like it will happen the same time as Brawl.

Why download it when we can play the shiny, new superior version? Because that's the only way we can play the classic N64 stages. Hyrule Castle, here I come!

they really should've put it out a long time ago. Either on Dec 3 or on Feb 10. If they wait until the Monday before (or worse, after) Brawl's release, it'll be pointless

I can read just fine...but you specifically brought up Ocarina of Time which was not a good example. Sorry if I didn't research every major Wii release and then subsequent VC releases.

In any case, both of those games are starkly different from Prime 3 and Galaxy. Smash 64 is not that different from Brawl or Melee. It had different physics, sure, but in essence it is the same formula.

So why in gods name would someone want to buy it the same week they get Brawl? Who is actually going to buy Brawl, put it down, pay 10$ more for Smash 64, and play that instead? The best time to release original Smash was last December, or even last month.

But now I would prefer to see a different N64 game hit the VC. Smash Brawl coming out should, if anything, delay the release of Smash 64...not accelerate it. There are plenty of good games, like Majora's Mask, Donkey Kong 64, etc., I want to give a try that aren't there before old Smash.

yes I agree with u , I know that this ain't the best time to release it but you know what? I love this game ,perhaps more than melee, and I'm sure many people do so "I'll buy it at a high price..." even on march 10 oh and let me tell ya that the OoT -TP is the best example for you ...they are just the samee..the same formula just like you said it ...now you are contradicting yourself.
