I was debating if making this again would be necessary with the move to smashboards, but I realized that PM feels different than brawl so the music tends to fit differently in a lot of stages. Because of this, here we are. The main point of this thread is to share some of the music you use on certain stages, and perhaps ask for certain songs to be done (depending on if anyone will pick up doing those requests Let me know!). I'll get around to posting some of my favourite music, while I hope you guys do the same. Below, I'll put some of the brstms I feel fit in certain stages and such, and whenever I see something that stands out, I'll add it to the OP. Also, if you want to share BRSTM packs, I'll add those to the OP as well. Download links and previews are always appreciated!

Helpful Tools and Websites

Are some of your songs coming in too quiet, even though they seem loud enough in brawlbox? This thread has a code to change the in-game volume modifer on a per-song basis, along with a code to make each song have the same volume data. http://www.smashboards.com/threads/custom-song-volume.326024/

Edit: JC reminded me of some key info:
My brstm pack is also "SD card-ready". All one must do is take the "strm" folder in the download and replace the "strm" folder at private\wii\app\rsbe\pf\sound\strm inside the SD card with it, or you can place the individual songs INSIDE the folder. The entire download is 555 MB, so it shouldn't compromise that much space at all inside of a 2GB SD card.

Here's my music pack (all the relevant info and links are in the description). It's SD-card-ready and fits comfortably on a 2GB card alongside Project M, with some extra room left over. Just put what is inside the zip file into the pf folder of your SD card and let it overwrite whatever it asks (although I highly recommend deleting your sound folder first, as overwriting brstms can cause issues). It won't interfere with Project M in any way, but it will give you the song titles at the beginning of matches. You can also download all my brstms individually, and I have far more than what's in my music pack.

The pack about 80% rock/metal and the rest chiptune and a few other random things (like a full-on acapella song on Pictochat

), and of course Karaoke Smashville Saturday night! I've been working on this for several months and put a lot of thought into the tracklist for each stage, and edited and looped every song myself.

I will be constantly adjusting it and adding new brstms. Dunno how often I'll update the music pack itself though. Depends how high the demand is I guess (but so far you guys have gone over the bandwidth limit on 2 different mirrors

Bowser's Castle is an amazing stage, I love the orientation of the platforms, almost like Lylat but without the awful ledges and annoying tilting. I also love the size of the stage. I think there needed to be more competitive small stages.

Download a mp3 file then open up audacity (google it) to do the appropriate cropping and volumizing/normalizing and then export it as a wav then open up brawlbox (google it) to loop it (you're gonna need good ears for this). and when you save it renamed it to a code goes for the in game song (here you go) and if comes out statically/switches to a diffrent song then defrag the sd card properties, tools, and its disk f.

If you can find a .brstm for the song you want, all you have to do is rename the file to the song you want (See song codes here) then put it into your SD card. Looping is very difficult and takes a lot of practice, musical knowledge, and time. Not saying you shouldn't do it if you cant find the file anywhere.

Also make sure you convert the song to a 16-bit WAV file. Bbox can't read 32-bit ones for some reason. Another thing everyone forgot to tell you is that ALL author data must be wiped from the song or it will crash Bbox. Here is the process I usually go through when I want to place an mp3 I like into Brawl.

Convert the mp3 into a 32-bit WAV file to preserve quality using a converter, like ConverterLite. This actually conveniently wipes all the author data automatically for you.
Open the 32-bit WAV file using Audacity (or a similar music editing program) and then perform all of the song edits you want to do. Control the volume (Brawl is stupid and will make a song play at different volumes on different stages), find loop points, cut & paste portions, combine songs, all of that good stuff.
Export your finished product into a 16-bit WAV file.
Open your song using Bbox and actually loop the song. If you found loop points in Audacity, you can just enter the sample numbers directly from there and you won't even have to spend more than a minute at this phase.
When Bbox has finished coding your song into a brstm, save it and use the name of the song you want to replace. I personally like this SWF thread for finding the name of whatever song I'm replacing, since it has everything organized much better and cleaner than it is on BrawlVault.
Place the brstm into your SD card under E:\private\wii\app\rsbe\pf\sound\strm. Naturally, use whatever letter fits your SD card drive at the beginning of the directory.
You're done!

One more question, is draculas castle luigis mansion? because i've been looking at the file name list and i remebered that there's no dracula's castle in brawl, lol, i'm guessing it's luigis mansion but i can't try it out right now and i wanna be sure.

Yes, Dracula's Castle does go over Luigi's Mansion so the music slots correspond.

ok LAST QUESTION (for now, hehe).......does the brawl custom music website always goes down or something? because 3 hours ago i tried getting on and nothing, then i tried an hour ago and it worked, i started downloading songs and then it didn't work again. Plus my internet connection is fine, so i just wanna now if it's me or something

That depends, if i'm using the normal stages then your right, but i've got some stage textures and stuff, plus i don't look at the "reccomended stage" thing, that's pointless.
Oh and some songs don't compare to all of the songs that's on there, including complete soundtracks for games and what-not.
